Meshugger Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Since the Xbox360 is 20 minute arcade-machine at the moment, i decided to finish my round PS:T that i started a month ago. This time i was a mage, which required a high INT, which lead to many new interesting dialogue-options that i didn't have the previous time(and first). Also, i noticed that i didn't complete all quests the last time. So my experience was further enhanced by: (Warning! Spoilers!) - I had the INT to play with Dak'kon's circle of Zerthimon(spelling?) and finding out more about him and his (not so true)teachings. - Finding out that Xachariah was a zombie at mortuary, and you could have talk with him. - After Ravel's maze i went to talk to Mebbeth. Excellent writing, a pinnacle of the game. - I didn't have Nordom or Vhailor at my party the last time( i didn't even meet them), this time i did. - When talking to the good incarnation at the fortress of regrets i found out that he was the very first incarnation. The story and reasons on why he wanted to become immortal shed a whole new light to story for me IMO. - I finally had the INT to able to use the Bronze sphere and got to know my original name. - I had the WIS the ask TTO the question and argue about "What can change the nature of a man?" - I had the WIS to make TTO merge with me, no need to blackmail with the blade of immortal this time. - And several more dialogue-options that added to the atmosphere of the game. Overall, it just made the whole story much better than it already was. It may not be the best RPG ever, maybe one of the best. But the story is the best that i've experienced, bar none. "Some men see things as they are and say why?""I dream things that never were and say why not?"- George Bernard Shaw"Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man."- Friedrich Nietzsche "The amount of energy necessary to refute bull**** is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it." - Some guy
Tigranes Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 - I had the INT to play with Dak'kon's circle of Zerthimon(spelling?) and finding out more about him and his (not so true)teachings. So did you get to the part where we find out about Dak'kon's past and who gave him the Circle in the first place? That was one of the things that made me shiver - rather like finding out Ravel's various 'incarnations'. - I finally had the INT to able to use the Bronze sphere and got to know my original name. How much INT is needed for that? I don't think I ever managed to crack it. - I had the WIS to make TTO merge with me, no need to blackmail with the blade of immortal this time. Yup, thought it was a bit funny how you start talking like a crackpot afterwards, th ough. Thing is, though, it's stupid *not* to play with high int/wis in PS:T, everything else is inferior, not different. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
kirottu Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 You get much more out of Torment with high int and wis. It This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.

mr insomniac Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 (edited) I always thought it was too bad you couldn't tell Dak'kon the truth about the Circle. Also, glad you got more out of the game this time around. You missed alot the first time, just like I did. In fact some of the things you learned this time, I never found out till the 3rd or 4th time I played. After that, I was using Infinity Explorer pretty extensively. Edited March 20, 2006 by mr insomniac I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God. So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me? Nothing personal. It's just revenge.
Tigranes Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 In that case, would you know if that Protection vs. Chaos tattoo you get in the Trash Warrens does anything significant? On the Mebbeth thing, I've always felt that Ravel was someone you were meant to feel sorry for, but I felt equal empathy for the Transcendent One... if you are from the moment of your 'creation' destined to be part of a cycle of deaths that will only end with your demise, (or that of TNO).. jaguars4ever Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 I always thought it was too bad you couldn't tell Dak'kon the truth about the Circle. It's for the best. We wouldn't The Dak'kon's karach blade going all soft on us, when we need it the most. He's too cool for that.
