They still adhere to those ideas even though the course and methods of psychiatry have changed dramatically. It's also interesting to see if Scientology just hates psychiatry or both psychiatry and psychology. I know they think all psychiatrists want to control people's minds by putting them on drugs and destroying the human spirit. They think psychiatry is a massive conspiracy. OH, btw, Rolling Stone and Time both ran major articles on Scientology. Time was in the early nineties, and the Rolling Stone one was very recent. Both exposed scientology for the scam that it is, and the way that they try to control their members (no discussion/debate about scientology itself is allowed. In addition, the biggest crime someone can commit is to speak out or question scientology.
