As for them picking sides, for the most part they pick on both sides quite a bit. Maybe it's because it has a longer length, but the South Park movie (as well as Team America) definitely fall into this category. I did years ago...it was actually kind of interesting in a "one man theorizing out of his nose to sell books/prove how gullible people are" kind of way. But Scientology the organized religion - they're horrible. Not because they believe in whatever they want to believe in, but because of the cult like aspect. I've known several people who've been harassed and hounded by Scientology "offices" when they joined and then quit - it borders on the threatening. Problem is, Scientology now uses psychometric tests to tell people what they need to hear to get them to join the group. Cynical? Yes. Effective? Also yes. Did they get me (even with a pretty girl) off the street? No. (I did get a chuckle out of the test, though.) Some of the physical/brain research of recent years has been intriguing tho. There's a big difference between theoretical pop psychology and the more, uh...'hard' science of the brain.
