Didn't Donkey Kong come out way before 1985?

Sure did. I was playing Donkey Kong before 85.

Then why are they advertising it as Mario's 20th?

I heard a techno-Jap rap mixing in Mario game game music. It was hillarious.

Ah, but if you remember, the character in Donkey Kong was called Jumpman, not Mario. Thus, if one wanted to be pedantic about it, Mario didn't exist until the first game in which the character was named Mario, and that would be 1985's Super Mario Bros., right?

Sounds about right.

I have to agree with Volourn.  Bioware is pretty much dead now.  Deals like this kills development studios.

I remember good old Super Mario for the original Nintendo. Classic.

... And your bonus question is:

what was Mario's brother's name?

Louigie. He wore green.

No, Luigi!

Luigi was way cooler than Mario, anyway. Plus, he kicked ass in Super Smash Bros. :o

I used to play Super Mario Bros. on my Spectrum. It wasn't like the NES version at all. You could play Mario against Luigi in a PvP game.

In the Super Mario games he had good jumping ability but was slow in other areas like picking up mushrooms.
