SadExchange
I heard someone say that you had to be connected to the internet while you actually play these modules. Is that true? Or do you just have to be connected to get them(of course).
Walsingham
I heard this as well. I dislike the idea intensely. However, I also heard they were releasing them soon on disk. Is this not so? SadExchange
I saw the box in my local gamestop and was wondering if it did come on disk and if you have it from the store, do you still need to be connected to the internet? Anyone?

Anyone? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They're selling Kingmaker in stores now. It comes with a disk and you don't have to be connected to the internet to play it. You just need NWN, SotU and HoU. They also have modules that can be downloaded straight from the net, but those need net access to play. SadExchange
When you say access to the internet, do you mean, while you're playing?
GhostofAnakin
I don't know the specifics since I've never played the downloadable modules, but apparently you need to be connected to the net each time you load up a game. Judge Hades
Each time you start a new game or load a saved game it sends a signal to the Bioware servers to authenicate the modules. If you cannot connect to the net or the Bioware servers are down you cannot play the premium modules that you have downloaded.
Volourn
That's not true if you buy the Kingmaker expansion. And, BIo is alreayd working on away to make it possible for those who buy it on line to enjoy the same advantage. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250. Judge Hades
I am just talking about the online purchasing. I don't see why there should be any change from how Bioware does it now for online authenication. They do have the right to protect their property. Sure BioWare doesn't have to do anything they don't want, but they're in the business of listening to the majority of their fans (ie. people who keep them in business). Judge Hades
The one yu buy has been updated and has new material in it. It still plays like the original and has the same story, but it has more bells and whistles added to it.
