Judge Hades Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Now if Jade Empire had Fallout role play opportunities, such as real multiple ways of solving quests, noncombat options to defeat opponents, and the such then I would be impressed by JE. JE is a good game, no doubt about it, but nothing impressive.
Kaftan Barlast Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Just out of the blue while were talking BG, is it a good idea to run BG1 with that Tutu thingie that allows you to play with BG2's interface and resolution? DISCLAIMER: Do not take what I write seriously unless it is clearly and in no uncertain terms, declared by me to be meant in a serious and non-humoristic manner. Volourn Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 "One good way and one evil way isn't all that great or that far greater than BG." JE quests often have 3+ ways to solve quests. There are also more (percentage wise) quests that have a non combat way to solve them compared to BG series. Why make things up, Willis? DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Judge Hades Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 3 ways? HA! There is the Open Palm path and the Closed Fist path and that was it and in any case there was only one way to win the game, killing Li. Tutu is a good mod.
Volourn Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Huh? You don't have to kill Li. Why are you lying? Did you even play the game? And, no, while most decisions give you open palm or closed fist ways there was usually more than one weay to achieve that in each quest. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Judge Hades Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I have played the game many times. The only option in each time was to kill Li.
alanschu Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I never played The Fall, but it was a full 3D game with a party, and I believe you paused and could switch to a first-person view from any of them, or could pull the camera out and have a wide shot of your entire party of the battlefield. I have to admit it sounds quite nice. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Aren't we getting a "beta-tested" version from Europe sometime soon?
GhostofAnakin Posted September 22, 2005 Author Posted September 22, 2005 I have played the game many times. The only option in each time was to kill Li. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I hate it when you make me agree with Volourn, but you're wrong. Considering how many times you claim to have played it, I'm surprised you keep saying this. "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
Deraldin Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Just out of the blue while were talking BG, is it a good idea to run BG1 with that Tutu thingie that allows you to play with BG2's interface and resolution? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, definatly yes.

Considering how many times you claim to have played it, I'm surprised you keep saying this. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Okay what is the other option then and how do you get it? Like I said, I have had the only option of killing him regardless of good or evil.
GhostofAnakin Posted September 22, 2005 Author Posted September 22, 2005 Neutral ending. "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
Volourn Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 "I have played the game many times. The only option in each time was to kill Li." Like Ghost stated, you are wrong. I am surprised that even if you didn't get this ending yourself that you at least didn't hear about the not so secret third ending. It's a pretty cool ending; but bittersweet. Let's just say it isn't 'happily ever after' type of ending - at least not for the PC. LOL (w00t) HINT: Accept Li's final offer. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Judge Hades Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Oh, hell no. Suicide is silly and pointless.
Diogo Ribeiro Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Besides, we're all going to die anyway so better to just take a piss on the world while we're waiting for that.
Judge Hades Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Don't be such a cynical old coot. That's my job.
Volourn Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 But, but, but, you get a statue built in your honour! Makes it all worthwhile! DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Judge Hades Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Oh yes, being a magnet for droppings from rats with wings is such a high honor.
Arkan Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Sort of like Ender said, if the game is good, you'll get over the interface changes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tell that to the Fallout fanatics. "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta
alanschu Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Not sure what you mean? If there had been a good Fallout game released that didn't strictly adhere to Fallout's interface, people likely wouldn't have cared. But since that game doesn't exist, we'll never know until Fallout 3 gets released.
