Volourn Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 Game over. Games don't make people violence. I win. Those who think otherwise lose. Great find! DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Laozi Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 ^^ Ya, But you're in our generation so WE lose Wait a min., aren't you like 38? People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.

The statistic that is hidden in those graphs is the Roe versus Wade result. Because abortion was decriminalised, the sad reality is that there are fewer unwanted children (because there are more aborted ex-humans) to grow up and commit crime; it is the children of poor economic and social backgrounds that commit most of the crime, e.g. drug-related larceny and assault. Statistics are a wonderful tool to prove anything (I notice there were no raw data listed, like the size of the sample space, standard deviations, marginal probabilities, etcetra, etcetr OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT

Taking all factors into account, violent crimes are down. Since the crime rate has fluctuated since RoevWade, and since those fluctuations it has seen a steady decline in recent years, it seems to me that we can, at the very least, entertain ideas other than the RoevWade argument. On the other hand, more abortions combined with 3strikes laws might be the biggest factor. Since there are fewer unwanted children and a huge number of the population in prison. metadigital Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Latest issue of The Escapist: ... Once computers and graphics processors are able to mimic reality, watchdog groups will learn that the Grand Theft Auto titles were mere warm ups. They'll be called upon in record numbers to protest video games with more hysterics than ever. Contrary to what they expected, the more accurate and realistic violent video games become, the less entertaining they will be for children. Instead, parents will be in an uproar over Grand Thought Identity, a virtual reality game that will instill teenagers with the ability to think for themselves and make sound, reasoned arguments using the dialectical method. Lawhunter, a game that teaches you the functions of the government (local municipal offices on Easy Level, state senate on Medium, and Congressional Filibustering on Legendary), will break all previously known records despite Madam President Clinton's efforts to make it illegal to create a game documenting any of the legal process on the grounds that giving "anyone" that sort of knowledge poses a security threat - of the mauve level. Yes, once games are truly lifelike, gamers will discover that the only thing worse than 8-bit graphics are 8 trillion-bit graphics, complete with nauseating liquids, disgusting squishy sounds, and truly offensive smells. ... OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT

LoneWolf16 Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Basically, yes. I'm not all that strong. My female friends love it, since they can really do whatever they want with me, considering my lack in physical prowess... I consider it a positive thing, since I usually end up with a gorgeous girl sitting on my chest, pinning me down so she can screw around with my hair (My GOD that's a wonderful view, espescially when she's in a nice, revealing tank-top)....I never let it get too far though, so no braiding and or dying...... ...I'm strong when I have reason to be :D I had thought that some of nature's journeymen had made men and not made them well, for they imitated humanity so abominably. - Book of Counted Sorrows 'Cause I won't know the man that kills me and I don't know these men I kill but we all wind up on the same side 'cause ain't none of us doin' god's will. - Everlast
