Sarjahurmaaja.
I go with the Lord of the Rings. Star Wars has always been just entertainment for me (which isn't a bad thing, though). 9/30 -- NEVER FORGET!
The Situationist
The Star Wars universe can't match the depth and development of the backstory behind LotR. Tolkien's mythology goes well beyond the basic trilogy.
Kinbote
Tolkien (though I've never been an especial fan) spent decades creating his alternate universe, inventing a language, detailing Middle Earth's history almost obsessively. Star Wars is paper-thin in comparison. I do agree with Tantor, though, that the high fantasy genre has been played to death over the years, and I welcome a turn to science fiction. And Iolo, it's nice to see that people still appreciate the great Jack Vance. He came up with the Excellent Prismatic Spray, if I'm not mistaken, as well as grues. Karzak
There wasn't much original in LotR, or SW. Now Star Trek, thats where we get good stuff from. Karzak
TNG was mostly crap I admit. TOS is still the best. Let's keep the T&A in FanTAsy ***Posting delayed, user on moderator review*** Why Bio Why?
