roshan Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 im replaying icewind dale 2, and I was wondering if there are any good mods for it? ones that add new content? Im suprirised at the lack of icewind dale 2 mods, specially since it has the most advanced version of the ie.
213374U Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 He asked for good mods, not googled ones. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
Baley Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 There are some good ones there :"> : like the subraces mod
Monte Carlo Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 You will find the most comprehensive listing of mods for all IE games here. Courtesy of the extremely useful bastion of IE goodness, The Pocket Plane Group. Cheers MC
Baley Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Has any one played the IceWind Gate 2 mod sounds intersting?...3E rules?...does it have all the skills ?
Antagonist Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Has any one played the IceWind Gate 2 mod sounds intersting?...3E rules?...does it have all the skills ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> According to Wesley Weimar, the chief (and sole) developer, the project is officially dead. It never made it past early beta stage and ToB is not supported at all.
6 Foot Invisible Rabbit Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 If you want Infinity Engine game mods, Pocket Plane is the best place to go nowadays. Very nice place indeed. Harvey
Antagonist Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Don't forget to mention Gibberlings Three. They released the BG1 Banter Pack for Tutu. Link
Monte Carlo Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Er, not really apparently. I don't think the beta was open, either.
Musopticon? Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 IWG 2 is dead? Damn, I was waiting for it to come out soon. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
Antagonist Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Here's the link to Weimer's message about him stopping development on IWG. Weimer's announcement He also released the beta builds he has made so far: Download Page
Arkan Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 IWG would have been interesting, that's fore sure. "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta
Yst Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 I'm glad to have been directed to the Gibberlings 3. I hadn't encountered the site before. While I was aware of the BG mods present there, I wasn't aware of the IWD Tweak Pack, and I'm currently playing through IWD for the first time. Rather enjoying it, incidentally. I'm quite pleased with the quality of story and writing.
roshan Posted April 28, 2005 Author Posted April 28, 2005 Thanks a lot everyone, but I still see no significant mods for the game. The changes made by them such as adding a merchant or a few subraces is very minor. I was looking for something that would add more quests, npcs etc. I think that the lack of mods for the game is quite sad. I was hoping to have a different experience while replaying it.
Volourn Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Crappy games tend not to have too many fan made mods. MW is the exemption; not the rule. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
213374U Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 You consider IWD2 crappy? - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
Volourn Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Yes. And, no, I'm not gonna explain why. I've done so too many times already. And, if you like the game, nothing I say will (nor should) change your mind. And, it'll make you hate me even more. :D DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
213374U Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 I see. Well, I'm not a big fan of either of the IWDs either, even though I finished them both. It's just not too common to find someone who doesn't like IWD2 around here. And no, I don't hate you. I just troll for fun. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
Volourn Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 I like IWD1 yet couldn't even stand to finish IWD2... "And no, I don't hate you." Damn. I gots to try harder. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
