Does anyone actually care whether lucas arts forced Obsidian to move quickly on this production?

As an enduser, you shouldnt care. The blame will be discussed between obsidian and LA, none of which is our business. The only fact pertinent to this is that Obsidian was indeed given a time table to complete the project, very likely prior to the negotiations. To say that obsidian was forced to complete the project in not enough time would be making excuses. They agreed to a contract and that's that.

Shutting down the forum LOL. Yes, if Obsidian wishes to destroy their own reputations, then they better get a lawyer right now and register a new company name They call this a solution. Huh.

Instead of spending time reading the negative posts in this forum, you obsidian employees, why dont you get off your collective butts, swallow the huge egos, and get a proper patch out. You guys dont really need to admit to anything - just get a patch out and we'll be out of your hair.

why did people think the forum would be shut down?

There was a lot of interesting things going on in the K2 forums, eventually getting to the point where people started listing non-public contact addresses for L.A. executives and ecouragment to bombard said persons with snail and electronic mail...

People needed a bucket of cold water to cool temper a bit and the back to business as normal. The current announcement on top from F.U. was preceeded by an announcement about the forum closure.

But Hades....what about their horrible track record after NWN? :-

Glad to see nothing has changed while I was away.  Still holding Fallout as the RPG to beat? :)

Bioware has improved a small margin since NWN, but they have yet made anything on par that Baldur's Gate. As for Fallout being number one, it still is. It is the perfect balance in rules system, difficulty, and story. Only way for Obsidian to get close to topping it will be making their own original IP.

The Better Business Bureau?? Wow, I mean, I'm upset by the lack of patch and amount of bugs with the game but I didn't realize that people were this mad. Chill, guy! It's just a video game.

I do not blame obsidian for the state KOTOR2 was released in, that lies with lucasarts for caring about money more than a piece of art and its buyers, but

obsidian have brought this on themselves, like they could have done a slightly better job of keeping people informed about the patch instead of simply saying it will be out "soon" then putting their fingers in their ears while the universe implodes in on itself
