Craftsman Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 God and only God decides a persons fate. Whatever happend to free will..... Free will. You have free will. Good or evil. Easy.
ShadowPaladin V1.0 Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Free will. You have free will. Good or evil. Easy. Good and evil are man made concepts. Like gods really I have to agree with Volourn. Bioware is pretty much dead now. Deals like this kills development studios. 478327[/snapback]

triCritical Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Free will. You have free will. Good or evil. Easy. God and only God decides a persons fate. Which one is it? I don't necessarily think that these things are mutually exclusive. Is it not possible to give a person free will, and then god determines their fate based on their decisions? Why do judgements need to be done before a person has actually lived?
Colrom Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Two bits I'd like to comment on. 1. Two plus two does equal four, complex numbers notwithstanding. 2. There is no contradiction between free will and predetermination. In fact the whole concept of judgement and will depends on a belief in determination. The concept of predetermination is usually associated with God or perhaps Fate as a surrogate for God. The argument is that since God knows all things for all times, of course he knows all of our choices and the outcomes of our choices and all other factors for all of our lives. Anything less makes a demi-god rather than a God. As dark is the absence of light, so evil is the absence of good. If you would destroy evil, do good. Evil cannot be perfected. Thank God.
Calliope Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 I love that site. The more I read it the more I think it's one giant spoof, (the Earth is Flat Gem got me) but then the sad thing is there really are people like that ;_; I wonder if any of the posters there are real fanatics who think they've found their home? Hmmm. Mistress' Lair Boldly Go!
Product of the Cosmos Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 Religion is the second worst thing to happen to humanity IMO. Enough said. lol
Phosphor Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 As Charles Dexter Ward once said, "do not call up what you cannot put down!". I think I'll just close this thread to prevent it coming back. And after POTC's post, I'm convinced locking is the best course of action....
