if you were Obsidian

Recommended Posts

If I was going to make Kotor III I would make it not as a totally new storyline but from the perspective of a character that has already been in kotor 1 and/or 2. How cool would it be if you played as Uthar and moved up the sith ranks and eventually took over the academy on korriban. Or howabout if you played as Nihilus and found out how he fell so far to the dark side. Granted this might take away from the whole choosing light side/dark side thing unless you could change history which would make for some weird stuff, but I think obsidian could figure something out that I can't, and could probably choose a better character. The real reason I made this post is because I was thinking about what it would be like if you interacted with Revan and/or the exile instead of playing as them. For those who have read the Ender series its kinda like writing the last book from Bean's perspective instead of Ender's. Just as spontaneous idea.....Let me know what you think.

I don't know. I think that approach worked for Orsen Scott Card (Personally I liked Ender's Shadow best out of the series.), but I don't really think that would work well here. A month ago I would have hated the idea of playing as Reven or someone directly connected to him in KotOR3 (assuming LucasArts will get smart and continue the seriers eventually), but after playing Knights 2 I think I'd actually like playing from that perspective. KotOR 2 made me realize how much I liked the characters of KotOR 1 (yes, even *shudder* Carth). Go figure. >_<

Good.  I did have a vain hope that Obsidian would have made the game better than the last one, however.  Unfortunately it is all about the leveling, teletubby challenges, and uber-munchkinisms.

Looking at your: Posts: 5,123 , one might come to the conclusion you really devoted your life to K2. This is mind, i really understand why you are that much disappointed

id be interested in what crpgs have actually left you without any major complaints, and fps for that matter. also having read alot of the reviews and player reviews the only thing that leaves me worried is the bug factor which will apparently be addressed b4 international/pc release. therefore, to a casual gamer like me, not a harcore d20ist the major problem with kotor 2 is that it was rushed, simple. however would you agree that you find that the major problem is its, hmm dunno how to say this, its babyish simplicity by true rpg terms, or is it another of a seeming plethora of problems.

Well, I don't play FPS games, but there are only 5 CRPGs that I have no major complaints about: Fallout 1, Planescape: Torment, Baldur's Gate 1 (with ToTSC), Baldur's gate 2 (without ToB), and Ultima 4.

KotOR series is just way to simple. I think that if the publishers/developers actually think that the casual gamer needs that level of simplicity to play the game then they are really insulting the intelligence of the casual gamer.
