OmegaCode
 I am very sad to play KOTR2 and get around 7 hours or so into the game where I just finished with the Ice Pole area on Teris Planet on the underground Jedi thing with the handmaidians which I had beat and talked to them all. I got to were the Droid was locked away and I talked to him and then told him meet me on Ebon hawk I get there and board then after it loaded I get a black screen glitch and I can only press start to get options so pissed off about it lost 4 hours or so all the way back to begaining of the planet :(. No way to fix it or nothing? why would you all freaking rush games out on the market so you can meet a freaking dead line??? why do us people who play your games have to put up with tons of glitches and stuff

Will it be fixed if i start a new game???? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It has been stated in these forums that this bug happens to user's who are using a 'special' or modded xbox. If you play the game from the disc, this particular bug does not occur. From what I've read, Obsidian did this on purpose. If you are using a legal xbox, good for you, and try loading up three different games before TSL to clear the cache.

Unfortunately, playing off the hard drive does change the timing of a number of events that fire during cutscenes which breaks some of the delicate timing for more involved cutscenes. So you'll get blackscreen problems like this by playing off the hard drive instead of the DVD. Which honestly wasn't done on purpose. If anything, I'd rather play off the hard drive to cut down on load times myself, but it probably isn't going to work too well for this game. -Akari
Reinoc
You're lucky it happened after only 7 hours. My brother is at 59 hours and this black screen appeared. And his X-Box is not "special" and he uses the original drive. He tried everything, from loading 3 other games, loading his last 3 saves, he got another disc, nothing changes. Quite frustrating. envida
I have played through the game from the harddrive and didn't have any problems at all. But I'm worried about this timing issue. Does it mean some cut-scenes may have been skipped when playing from the hard-drive?

I used a Hollywood Video Game that they got new which had no scratches on it and it was not a copy of any game. So look that over also if you all read the post you will see that alot do not have modded xbox's who experiance this to at http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/gentopic.php?board=920194 which I have seen state alot about Black Screen glitches. I used a legit CD also stated that I took the game back where I got it now I tried another CD which at the same saved game on my xbox was still glitched so I have wiped the saved games off my xbox and started over which really sucks but I am hoping it won't have same glitch again. I baught my Xbox new at EBgames in Palm Springs its a 1.6v Xbox by looking on the internet. rhombic
I'm running off of a three-month old x-box, never modded, purchased from Best Buy and used (off and on) w/ Halo2 on live-- it's definitly not modded, or MS would have kicked my account. I'm running a disc purchased (at full retail price, BTW), also at Best Buy last week. No scratches on the disc, nothing wrong w/ the x-box, and after the merc attack on Dantooine the game loads to the infamous black screen. Very, very annoying. I would have been more than happy to wait until February or March to get a game that worked, and didn't die seventeen hours in.

Now on Nar Shadar Waiting to get the game again. My Hollywood Access Pass expired so had to turn game back in. Christmas getting it again for 3 months. What I am saying is might want to check to make sure you all not glitched with party members not in party like they should be before going the next step. they were spose to be in my party before leaving the Ice Pole Jedi thing. Hope this helps some ps... Thanks all for helping though, I loved MMORPG's and RPG's the most. When I saw KOTR2 on the shelf looking all fansy I said what the heck and gave the game a shot. Now I am in love with the game. Long ago I had tried alittle of KOTR as a demo I think I didn't think it was all good well maybe I didn't catch on to the controls on the pc version that good. I am very happy in giving KOTR2 a shot I diffently buying it sometime soon. For now for Christmas I am getting another 3 month Hollywood Access pass from Hollywood Video which I can rent a game or a pick of any for 3 months which I can take back many times I want. I am getting KOTR2 again to play then I saving the game save I saved on my Xbox

EnderAndrew
The XBox harddrive is a 5200 RPM POS on ATA33 speeds. Load speeds are only slightly improved from the DVD-ROM. Even if you mod your Box and put in a nice 7200 RPM 8 meg cache HDD, transfer speeds are stuck at the ATA33 windows unless someone develops a new XBox BIOS to get around that. For certain games, playing off the HDD is nice, but it's not always the answer.
