It says that the prevoius droid walked into a mine or something. Chris Avellone himself told us not to take anything out of context though, so it wa sprobbably some random droid. Hk-50 is an entirely new droid who'll be scrapped before you leave P. Station, and the HK we all know and live shall return later in the game.
