As I've understood it, this has been a pain point ever since patch 5.0 for many

Credit to @ShadyDax for nudging me to check this bug out

Note that this does not fix potions added by mods (I'm gonna have to patch Potion of Enlightenment later 😓)

i won't get a chance to sit down and play for a week, but this might become my #1 mod of choice if it indeed fixes it

had to squeeze in some time today just to mess with it, and i can't believe it, probably one of the most annoying 5.0 issues is fixed with this mod. i'll have to update my guide just to specifically endorse this mod. thanks so much @Noqn! wild fix on turning them into "scrolls" type consumables.

had a real play session this weekend and i can't get over how significantly @Noqn personally has improved my quality of life. just effortless to use potions in fights now. what am i going to do with my "AI mode toggle" hotkey button now??

I'd say it's mostly me. The only AI programming I really do in Poe2 is setting up buff scripts for any character with Wizard levels. And that's because there's like ninety wizard buffs you can chain gun out at the start of a fight lol. But any other character buffing I tend to not mind doing and I'll handle it myself. And I never would want the AI to handle offensive abilities because those really require a Watcher's touch. 

Would like to report, I've used it and tested it in Linux Native version of the game. I needed to create an Override folder and c/p the files into said folder. Now I can't wait to create drug addict build chug some poultice and chew some svef.
