Questions about the gods' physical form

In deadfire, the gods mention that they once walked Eora as titans and they would stop Eothas if they had their titan bodies. But i could not find how and when they lost their physical form (only Abydon was "killed" by the moon of Ondra). Is there any more detail on this matter?

dialogue in that meeting imply they destroyed their body after abydon died once

probably to avoid losing memory and personality after death like abydon did

Due to how destructive Gods action were for Eora (see the little dispute between Ondra and Abydon or Eothas in Deadfire), Gods agree to not use pbysical bodies and not directly interfere with kith. To promote their agendas they used willing kith sevants, like Thanos, or yourself.
