Dead enemies spawning random mob

Hi, I have been intermittently seeing mobs spawn a new random mob on their death. The most recent one was a Revenant Ogre turning into a pig, I've also had pirates turn into lesser black oozes, xauriups becoming pirate ogres and a range of other things. It happens infrequently, but has started happening since patch 2.0.1. I never saw it before that.

Do one of your party members happen to have the Essence Interrupter bow equipped? If so, that bow's effect causes afflicted enemies to spawn a new random creature upon death. This bow is an item that can be purchased from Henric in Port Maje.

This is either a very weird bug - or a facepalm.
