June 1, 20187 yr I just downloaded the beta. The first time I launched it my windows 10 pc appeared to hang, with the cursor turning to the rotating circle. Alt-tabbing moved me to a blank screen which seemed unresponsive to most input. Task manager was able to come up after screwing around with focus, and windows suggested the program was non-responsive. I launched again, and the same thing happened, so I verified cache. Trying to launch again after checking for some sort of crash log and finding no new ones, I would estimate I finally got to the title screen after a much longer than typical delay. I would estimate prior to the beta it took 10-20 seconds to reach the title screen. I further estimate it is taking 5-10 times longer. I quit the application, and relaunched it. For 3 times in a row now I am eventually able to make it to the title screen, but it consistently takes MUCH longer than it did on the prior stable release.
June 2, 20187 yr Hello Matt, I am sorry this is happening, thank you for bringing this to our attention. Could you send us your output log? That might help us identify the source of the issue. Output Log When the issue occurs, close the game client, find this file, then attach it to your post Steam Location: \Steam\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity II\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\output_log.txt GOG Location: \GOG\Games\Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\output_log.txt GOG Galaxy: \GalaxyClient\Games\Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\output_log.txt OSX Location: ~/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log
June 2, 20187 yr Author Here you go (if I complete the attachment correctly at any rate). Thanks for your rapid response. output_log.txt
June 2, 20187 yr Same issue here. I thought my game was just crashing, but after reading this thread, I let the game continue to run, and it eventually started (game is installed on an SSD too). Took a very long time. I reverted back to patch 1.02 and had no issues booting the game. Soon as I switched back to 1.1, the issue came back.
June 2, 20187 yr Thanks for the log! Someone brought up in another thread that they had a similar issue with a mod installed, do either of you have any mods active? Thanks, David
June 3, 20187 yr same here. no mods. gog. output_log.txt Edited June 3, 20187 yr by DiabolicallyRandom
June 3, 20187 yr Happens for me too. Even without mods. But hoooo boy it's annoying when creating mods to wait 1-3 minutes for the game to load. Want to play a dragon in Deadfire? Try my subclass mod here!https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/76
June 3, 20187 yr Same issue here, loads for about 2-3 minutes. No mods installed and the game is installed on an SSD. Edit. For me the game also slows down/hangs a lot while playing. Not present in 1.0.2. output_log.txt DxDiag.txt Edited June 3, 20187 yr by mrhawn
June 3, 20187 yr Having the same problem on Linux. I don't seem to have output_log.txt. ~/.config/unity3d/Obsidian Entertainment/Pillars of Eternity II/Player.log has "WebException: The request timed out" some time after launching the game, maybe it's related.
June 5, 20187 yr Author The update that was just pushed out does not seem to have resolved the loading time for the intro screen issue. Not sure it was intended to, but thought I'd mention it.
June 5, 20187 yr We have a hunch to what the problem is based off of the output_log info and the next beta patch will hopefully resolve it. It's a bit hard to be sure since nobody at Obsidian is running into this issue though. Twitter: @robyatadero
June 5, 20187 yr I've been having this same issue as well. I'll attach my Output_log file once I figure out how to attach a file on this forum

June 6, 20187 yr Hello All, Patch 1.1.0.0031 should have resolved this issue and is now live on the Beta Branch. Are any of you still experiencing this issue? Please let us know! Best, -Caleb I like big bugs and I cannot lie...
June 6, 20187 yr Author Patch 1.1.0.0031 appears to have fixed the extended delay in reaching the load screen. Thanks for your help.
June 7, 20187 yr Confirm fixed here as well.If you can, would you mind sharing what the cause was? As a developer myself I always find little quirky bugs like this interesting.
