  1. Yeah, Robbie Williams. Unlike most pop singers, he comes across as having actual musical talent, especially when you consider that despite being one of the most minor members of Take That, he was the only one who survived. Plus, he sang a song called Road to Mandalay which is one of the very, very few pop songs I actually like.
  2. Kinda strange that there would be a Jedi put into parliament when the Sith Lord in parliament intends to stand down...
  3. I like Madonna. She and Robbie Williams are the only pop singers I have any respect for.
  4. Assuming that we are using the latest version of the rules, this is correct, but by the same token so is Oxford Circus. Jags' move now, correct?
  5. King Kong will suck unless he throws barrels at someone. It's true.
  6. OK, so you start with a loaded gun, fire a shot... reload, then fire again, 2.3 seconds later. elapsed time so far is 2.3 seconds. reload, then fire again, 2.3 seconds later. elapsed time is now 4.6 seconds, and 3 shots have been fired. oddly, in less than 5 seconds. a feat previously thought impossible because...? taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There is a technical term for this. I believe it is "pwned".
  7. Well, I think I have no choice but to open with the Red Baron Offence, and begin my play at Heathrow Terminals 1,2,3. I realise that this offensive strategy normally opens from Terminal 4, but with that closed until 2006, and the recent revision of the rules so removing it from play has forced a revision of the Attack. Nevertheless, being at a terminus, it severly restricts the moves for the next turn on the Picadilly line, allowing me to restrict the attacks of others, and giving me marnaple position over much of the board. Whose move now?
  8. Which forensic experts? Have a source I could look at?
  9. I'll confess I missed it, but there was a documentary on the BBC called JFK: The Simple Truth, the purpose of which was to bring together all the leading experts in all the relevant fields, and prove once and for all that Oswald was a lone gunman acting alone. As I say, I never saw it, but I have yet to meet someone who saw the doumentary and still believes in a conspiracy regarding Kennedy's death. Apparently, the documentary left absolutely no room for doubt. There's a BBC Article regarding the documentary, btu I'm not sure where one could find the documentary. And if you don't mind me asking, as I only skimmed the article you linked to, doesn't that article assert that the Roscoe White story was an "elaborate deception"?
  10. So, shall we start over, then? Remember that anyone can feel free to join in as soon as you pick up the rules. I believe that as the previous winner, it is Steve's turn to go first, yes?
  11. Do you mean that you believe in conspiracies because conspiracies are human nature, or do you believe in conspiracies because believing in conspiracies is human nature? There's nothing wrong with conspiracies, per se, it's just that all the famous ones are used to justify events that already have perfectly reasonable and logical explanations, like the Apollo Program, or Roswell. On the other hand, if you wish to pick a reasonable thing to have a conspiracy about, say "There was a conspiratorial secret treaty between France and Spain for a combined invasion of the British Isles led by Napoleon", or "Every other player is ganging up on me and Turkey because they think that we are in an alliance! It's a conspiracy!", then youd have a much more logical and reasonable case for the conspiracy. Problem is, when did logic and reason get you in the papers over sensationalism? Did you know that John Wilkes Booth was actually a Jovian part of a conspiracy intent on preventing the United States from leading a war to emancipate their Martian slaves, through use of their secret 19th Century space program?
  12. On the other hand...it could just be a coincidence. " If your mother is actually psychic, Arch, The Randi Foundation will give her one million dollars if she can prove it. Then she can buy you a fur coat (but not a real fur coat, that's cruel).
  13. Yuck! The lime is nice, though. My bet on the next flavour is orange.
  14. That's kinda like sarsperella, isn't it? (Yes, I'm showing my age ...) And shouldn't your uniform include a b
  15. I drink decaf lattes because I'm an English Language Student with a black turtleneck. All that's missing is the cigarette and the camp elitist accent. I only drink coffee when I'm out and about, though. At home, I drink 2 litres of Diet Vanilla Coke a day. Yummy.
  16. try tshirthell.com instead "I ****ed the Olsen twins before they were famous"
  17. As long as we're posting t-shirts, I present to you the most awesome t-shirt in human history:
  18. The Barenaked Ladies - Brian Wilson "And if you wanna find me, I'll be out in the sandbox..." I love this song.
  19. I've never understood exactly what Emo was. I never liked all this nu-metal/post-punk/ skater music to bother differentiating between the myriad forms of crap. A website I just googled mentioned that Embrace was an emo band, which made me wonder if perhaps Emo wasn't so crap. But then Wikipedia indicated that there are two Embrace bands, one "emocore", and the other an Indie-britpop band I liked briefly some years ago. So, I'll go back to my previous assumption of emo being crap. Accoustic guitars make everything better. Given that Emo seems to be some sort of Artificial Punk-substitute (that is, having little taste and little nutritional value, making it a fairly good imitation of Punk), I'm willing to bet it uses very few accoustic guitars. If you're going to make your music emotional, at least do it in style. Forever Autumn, Last Train, or Walking in Memphis = good emotional music. Singer screaming loudly about how much life sucks despite the fact that he likely had a rather comfortable middle-class upbringing and now has a considerable amount of money = bad emotional music.
  20. My little sister bought a tamagotchi, so I got all nostalgic and bought a digimon off eBay. I'm playing with that. :">
  21. Well, I suppose that leaves me with little recourse other than a MacGuire Play, thus removing the Hammersmith and City line from play, at least through use of a Stanmore. That opens up a few more options, and I will therefore move to Camden Town.
  22. Arsenal is certainly an intriguing move, but to be honest I'm not sure what you hoped to accomplish by it, as it strikes me as neither overly defensive or offensive. However, as I'm worried you're stalling for something, I'll do the same, and go to Elephant and Castle.
  23. I did, but it was unecessary, as there are no Turkish units which can be dislodged this turn. Had there been, your retreas would have been valid, even if they weren't submitted alongside your orders.
  24. *groans* Oh no! Why'd you have to move to Dollis Hill? If there's anything I really hate about this game, it's that blasted loop. Well, what choice am I left with? The Matthews Dash would only open up Mornington Crescent to another player, and The Collins Gambit could very well do the same in three moves. Well, I'll be damned if I lose so easily. My move is Dollis Hill.
  25. The actons provide some interesting problems, yes, but while both North And West Acton provide no useful options at all, the Aitken Switchback, first played in the seventies, allows a move to be played forthwise on just this sort of occasion, allowing me to bypass East acton and move straight to South Kenton. Now, I know that you may be thinking of moving straight down Bakerloo to Picadilly Circus, but bear in mind that it is now only Canada Day in Canada, Removing the bonus from Trafalgar, and therefore disallowing ambulaorationary moves. I do hope our observers are enjoying our game. I also hope that the fairly advanced level of the game isn't making the rules too hard to pick up. We'd love for you to participate. It is also getting late. I hope someone else can fill my spot. Otherwise, I shall have to examine your answer in the morning. Good night.
