  1. Then it's stupid to put them in the game, unwinable fights just suck.
  2. Imported from another forum, so Obsidian devs what's on your bookshelf?
  3. Would there be mullets?
  4. There are demons and huge dragons I'd need 9th level spells for that, that means I'd have to be 17th level at least by the time I faced them in a crpg.
  5. Well he's insane, I have a job thank you. 40 to 60 hours is pretty good for powering through the main quest. With an equal number of optional side quests. That's a solid game. But for Nwn it matters a bit less since you presumably will be playing mods. This is where I have problem with the level caps. I beat the first OC at level 17, so I don't have a problem playing a standard game, but after 60 hours spread out over a few months, I have a tendency to become attached to my character. This is why I want to continue playing into epic levels. I want to keep playing my character until I'm done with it not when the game peters out or the game says to quit. What's the point of being able to mod the game if you can't run character in it? If you have to keep restarting characters your mod basically is competing with the OC instead of being an extension.
  6. Do you even know what 'balanced' means?
  7. Well what can you control? Can you make poetry loving, techno-ninja pacifist?
  8. Do you have any control over the culture of your people?
  9. 'Street gangs' are much too busy selling drugs to bother joggers. On a lighter note I just noticed today that I'm on the last notch of my weight belt, I can either get a hole punch or stop loosing weight...
  10. FR is a high level, high magic setting. Does that mean everyone is elminster? No. Does that mean you have to be high level? No. The difference is that if you want to play a low level game or make a low level mod the existence of higher levels doesn't affect you at all. High-level players and mod makers aren't so lucky. Of course if you are a low level character you just have to accept that there are whole races of people that can kill you with nothing but their innate powers. How the hell are you going to play a Drow without eventually going into epic levels? Oh I get it you intend to die in the first act for the sake of the story! Now it all makes sense instead of playing a traditional game where you're the standout hero you want to play a commoner that multi classed into warrior because he like, heard they like got paid more only to be turned into a vampire spawn because he didn't have enough class levels. Brilliant.
  11. Never did hear how much more unbalancing epic levels(which we know are coming anyway unless the game is a total flop) are than regular dnd and while we're at it if you love low levels so much why play a FR game?
  12. Broken how? By the way, I want epic rules and no class cap period.
  13. Levelups are satisfying.
  14. I wouldn't mind if the OC was sort except there isn't much to do besides that, with the level cap you basically have to start a new character every time you start a new game. Reach for that spell, oh wait you don't know that spell anymore. It's really frustrating to start characters over and over again, especially when you're playing spellcasters. Normally this'd be the time to go looking for mods but wait, with the level cap you're more than likely going to have to start a new character. Rinse, repeat. I wish I'd been in on just one of those planning sessions.
  15. I kept expecting a boss
  16. Look hades if you like getting shtuped in the wallet, hey we all have ways of getting our kicks. I just think it's pretty lousy to roll back features in a sequel and that common sense says will be added anyway in an expansion pack. Let me see a show of hands of players that only play low-level campaigns, and also play as wizards, and can't see the problem with that in a crpg?
  17. He chose the perfect martial art to be pudgy.
  18. Wow what a dumb 'option'. You do know FR is a high-level campaign setting?
  19. Doubtful in chicagoland.
  20. I crash dieted recently losing the gut I gained whilst learning the basics of 3D stuff. I decided I'd rather not look like some sort of evil twink so I'm currently taking quite a few 'supplements' (about ten in the morning alone, if I stop posting suddenly just assume my liver blew up) and my arms have really grown in the last week or so, so that now they are about as big as my calves (still have to work a bit more on my triceps but I'll stop once I can
  21. Only if you're so weak that a slightest nudging of your worldview would twist your stomach and make you spew you guts out mewling like the fool you've secretly always know you've been. Other than that, no I can tell a man from a women just fine.
  22. Everyone involved got paid so it was worth it to them, I consider it a disapointment for many reason I'm sure I've posted many many times before, and it's one reason I'm wary of NWN2.
  23. Someone took this at an anime convention without checking to see what charater she was supposed to be. A little help?
  24. Oh you can enforce this law we just happen to have guaranteed freedom of speech that trumps this silly little law that was probably snuck in somewhere *reads the article snippet*, see told yah. Neo Nazi's can march but I can't mock in peace? I think not.
