  1. Thanks Avatar, but I just figured it out anyway. For those who havent started playing the game, remember, ask your HK-50 droid to record his voice onto the sonic recorder. he can mimic the maintanence guy's voice. He will explain how the maintainance guy died, then you will have an option to say "Screams?" After you ask him to repeat his screams, you can then ask him to record the acess code to the recorder. That's the easiest way. Sorry for the typos, in a hurry. All of that running around for nothing. The whole time the droid had the answer,
  2. I am on Peragus, and am trying to open the airlock so that I can spacewalk across to the dormitory. Problem is you need THREE voice fragments from the dead maintenance guy recorded on your sonic recorder to access the door. I can only find TWO!! I have been running around looking for 2 hours.. Can someone please tell me where I can find all three of them? Thanks in advance.
  3. But that's the problem that we all are complaining about in the first place. Why do some retailers have it 3 days early, and others wont have it until the 9th? Don't give me the "its all because of geography" line either. Canada is further away from any distribution warehouse than any place in the states, and folks in Canada had it in their stores yesterday, and I STILL don't have it here and I have 2 game stores within 3 miles of me, not to mention Wal-Mart's, Sears, Targets etc... The fact is, most of the major game retailers in the states dropped the ball on this and just didn't put any effort into having it on the shelves by the release date. You can bet your a$$ if this were Halo 2, they would have had 500 copies in the night before the release date. The game has been out there for a few days now, it's just that these retailers were lazy and probably didn't expect it to sell. Hell, a couple of people at my gamestores didn't even act like they had even HEARD of this game!
  4. Err, you're making one small mistake here. How can you judge the quality of the graphics merely by looking at an ONLINE and LOW QUALITY video? I wouldn't trust the i-net for video quality. I am sure the game will look much better on my 46' HDTV than on my 19' monitor being streamed through realplayer.
  5. Really these reviews are encouraging, no matter what the naysayers think. How often have you seen a sequel to a movie and it suck? How about with games? I can name numerous examples. For a sequel to the Game of the Year to be getting marks above 9 is impressive, especially when you consider that Obsidian is getting bashed for using the same graphics engine, yet still manage 9.0's and 4.5/5's. This says a lot for how entertaining and deep the story line must be. This, above all else, is why I play RPG's. If I want graphics, I will go play Halo 2 and not be challenged by the story or the game. I have been playing KOTOR1 tonight -- I see nothing wrong with the graphics, in fact, they look much better than most console games I have played.
  6. I can't believe the Best Buy did that to you. If it were me, I would have demanded to talk to a manager and told him I want the game now, or I will blab around town about how badly this store sucks. I have worked in retail all of my life, and I know how much power customers have over managers. With enough hell raising and logic thrown in, he woulda seen it your way and you would be playing the game right now. When I went to my Best Buy today, the girl didn't even know what the game was (though I can't blame here cuz it wasn't her dept., I don't think). She simply went to the computer and the game was not listed at all. She just said "check back tommorrow." As for me, I am skeptical whether the Gamestop I have it preordered from will actually have the game tommorrow, even though they said they will. This distribution process is all screwed up. We all know the game has been made, packaged and shipped from the factory for probably 5-6 days now (as evidenced by the fact that numerous people have said their Wal-Mart has had it for days in the back). WHY is it so HARD for these game retailers to simply order the game on the 3rd or 4th and have it by the 6th? WHY? I am off work this week and am staying up all night. I am good minded to hit my Wal-mart right now, at midnight, to see if they have gotten any overnight trucks. Whatcha think?
  7. Add my local Game Crazy (Hollywood video) to the list. They also said it "shipped today and wont be hitting stores till tommorrow." Go tell that to the people on this board who found it TODAY and even earlier this weekend.
  8. How many people on this board actually were able to acquire the game TODAY? I have been in person to my local Wal-mart, Target, Toys R' Us, Best Buy, GameStop, EBGames and not one of them had it today. Toys R' Us said they "weren't sure if it was in the back or not" but told me to check back. I would like to know how distribution of these games works. Why can Canada have it on the shelves today, yet most of the U.S. can't? How did some lucky people get the game last week? Why is the distribution process so wacked? Is it a law that a store can't put it on the shelves before the designated release date? (I know this is the case with movies) And if so, how do they get around it?
  9. If my Target has it tommorrow, I will go buy it and just go straight to Gamestop and get a refund. It is ridiculous that stores like Target that don't even specialize in games get games before the Gamestops and Babbages of the world.
  10. I have mine preordered from GameStop too. I just called them and they said it wont be in till the 7th. Where do you live?
