  1. If GamerGate would end tomorrow I would still be glad to be part of it. We funded women's gaming charity and made The Escapist change it's ethics guidelines. This has nothing to do with anything. I don't think you understand what chaos means. Individual accountability exists and that's the only thing we need. People are responsible of their own actions. Shocking, I know. Now I'm sure you don't understand what chaos means. Chaos is ever changing that is what makes it chaotic. Chaos is change. In internet there is no need for hierarchy of order. Everyone has a voice and everyone is equal. Internet is chaos.
  2. Both those operate in the real world. Internet is chaos. So for internet based consumer revolt no leader is needed.
  3. Actually if it is the "doxxing" that I witnessed, then it was an idiot who decided to prove that the information was publicly available and posted it. So it was sheer idiocy. Occam's razor wins again.
  4. Doxxing Day harms GamerGate. That could be the motive. I think that's bit too simple to be conspiracy.
  5. An interesting, different take on GamerGate: http://kazerad.tumblr.com/post/100701290523/gamergate-alternate-theory
  6. God of Hangover from Discworld has always been my favourite.
  7. Granted I haven't played WoW in years, but after group finder was introduced it never took as long as it takes in SWTOR. After they introduced cross server group finder and double speccing I never had wait more than mere minutes as a dps. I think the main reason is bad group design. WoW has 1 tank, 1 healer and 3 dps while SWTOR has only 2 dps per group. Also, Esseles is the very first flashpoint on republic side.
  8. So Zoe is spreading a doxx and Gawker attacks their advertisers...
  9. They do have a group finder. Just apparently not enough people playing or something.
  10. So I caved in and tried it once again. I spend hour and half waiting to get in to Esseles while doing quests at Coruscant. And that was it. IMHO, the two biggest faults with this game are still the horrible engine and I don't get to play what I want to play when I want to play.
  11. It does really confuse me that they did try this before with the "gamers are dead" articles. It didn't work then and only bought lots of people to the pro-GG side. Now they are trying the very same thing again.
  12. Breaking news everyone! Mental gymnastics are now officially part of Oppression Olympics.
  13. Another excellent article by Cathy Young: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2014/10/21/the_gender_games_part_2_videogames_meet_feminism_124375.html
  14. You would think Gawker had learn something, but no. Now the two heroes are attacking Christina Sommers. She can't promote her own book? What she should have done then? Claim harassment, run away from home and set up a patreon account?
  15. I really liked this blog post by a developer: http://anonymousdeveloper.tumblr.com/post/100181061253/a-lot-of-you-people-against-gamergate-talk-about This is what I'm starting to think the whole SJW movement is about. It's not about inclusiveness or equality. It's about one voice and hundreds echoing it. Bayonetta is a good example of this. It doesn't matter that Bayonettas model developer is a woman. Bayonetta is still horribly sexist, because it wasn't made by one from the SJW clique. If it had been made by SJW, I'm sure it would have been applauded as wonderful story of female sexual empowerment or something. Just look at Revolution 60. This horrible double standard is the antithesis of equality. In other words I agree with Daniel Vavra.
  16. @Longknife, the mental gymnastics these people go through are impressive in their own right. Here is another good example: https://soundcloud.com/totalbiscuit/weaponised-charity
  17. Interview with the both sides: http://mangotron.com/pro-vs-anti-gamergate-two-interviews/ I wish I could hug their comment section.
  18. Elliot Rodger threated to shoot people in internet earlier this year before his killing spree, comes first to my mind. So one time out of a bajillion threats. Go on. There has been three mass shootings and one bombing of shopping center in past 12 years in Finland, in every of these cases except one (our newest one where perpetrator got angry in line to food kiosk and decided to get his guns and kill everybody) there has been threats from perpetrator that they will do these acts in internet beforehand and each case police deemed those threats to be nothing but empty talks in internet, so much so that in one case the even gave weapon buy permit to perpetrator for weapon that he use in his killing spree even though they knew that he had threaten to shoot his fellow students. Which is why I think that internet threats should be taken as seriously as those that are made to face to face. If we don't take threats in internet seriously they will work as mask that obscures us to see those threats from people that actually will commit acts they threat to do and changes our attitudes towards hostile language so that we don't even blink when people use crude and uncivil language when they speak to us, which just make our society so much less pleasant to live (but that maybe just me not everybody else). /off topic Shopping center bomber never made any threats and the police ruled it as an accident. I followed the story since I went to same school as he did. Weird guy, never talked to anyone, walked kinda funny.
  19. Hi guys! Anita went full Jack Thompson. Never go full Jack Thompson.
  20. Picture of journalist who either favourited and retweeted these bullying tweets: http://imgur.com/2o6lNXc This with what Orogun1 posted is damn depressing. These guys are openly encouraging bullying and the Guardian wont even talk with pro-GG crowd and labels them as idiots. I think I'm going to take a few day break from this. I thought when this started to hit mainstream media I would get to see more balanced articles, you know, reporters talking to the both sides, but no. No, no no. Lazy reporting what others have reported or even denouncing pro-GG crowd, like the Guardian. And why in the hell everyone keeps talking about Zoe? She is as important to GamerGate as Gavrilo Princip was to World War I.
  21. Gawker media journalist: http://theralphretort.com/gawker-refuses-denounce-advocacy-bullying/ I think this the major difference between GG trolls and anti-GG trolls. Their trolls get paid for it.
  22. Want a reasonable debate, go to 8chan and talk to the people there, hell go anywhere but twitter, twitter wasn't made for reasonable debate, it was made for 149 characters worth of crap. There are also plenty of websites already trying to dissect all the information, and putting out what they find. If there is an "official site" when it gets highjacked (not if, when), it'll badly damage the movement as whatever comes out there will be the "official" gamergate statements, the movement will have to be rebranded and restructered again, at which point it'll either go from "official site 1#" to "official site 2#" and so on, or go right back to being a chaotic mob of anons. Or r/kotakuinaction is also a good place for debate.
  23. Excellent, Adam Baldwin approved, article: http://reason.com/archives/2014/10/12/gamergate-part-i-sex-lies-and-gender-gam
