  1. Haven't seen this reported anywhere, so...if Eder is wearing his armor, that grants the "Second Chance ability" (don't know if there is anything else that grants this) and is the last party member knocked unconscious, the game will end, even though he pops immediately back up. Was a little frustrating, because he would have won the battle on the next hit.
  2. Could I ask how often you rest? Just curious because I am planning on restarting post patch and am trying to decide between hard and PotD, and I found hard to be somewhat challenging in places when I tried not to abuse resting, i.e. would try to clear 1-2 floors of Od Nua or R Keep, etc. But I did notice as the game went on and my characters got stronger the challenge was dropping (no stat bugs).
  3. Well said, although I'm dying to learn about this Obsideon developer that you made multiple references to. Are they also a maker of isometric RPGs? Now I have to laugh. At myself. I have to admit I laughed too, mostly just because there's something funny looking about "Obsideon." It looks like the name of a comic book villain
  4. Well, hopefully they get a patch out in the next few days that resolves a lot of these. I'm about a third of the way through the game but planning on restarting anyway, with a cipher, but I definitely don't want to do that until they fix some of the bugs. Speaking of which, I didn't see (did I miss it) the Cipher bug related to the couple of items, per this thread: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/72492-bug-cipher-focus-gain-permanently-disabled-by-drinking-horn-of-moderation/ I'd say that's pretty game-breaking if your PC is a Cipher.
  5. Only this for now: I can confirm that this works for me, at least for the location where everyone is experiencing it (Valewood).
  6. There are dialogue options for cruel responses, aggressive responses, for lying, etc. All of these things are tracked and go into how NPC's respond to you in the future. That sounds pretty good; so you could make a cruel character who isn't necessarily "evil", or an aggressive, violent, but honest character.
  7. Sorry if this is old hat to anyone, and if so, I appreciate your taking the time to answer. I know there is no classical D&D style morality system (at least I think I know this). I also know that the dialogue options offer a variety of various approaches to roleplaying your character. I'm wondering if anyone knows if there are options to roleplay your character as "evil" (I assume there are plenty of options to play them as the classical hero type). By evil, I mean (hopefully) something a little more sophisticated than the BGII Gromnir "Murder everyone, good fun!" style of evil - e.g., a ruthless, power-hungry type, willing to betray people, or any of a dozen variations. Hoping the answer is yes, because I don't think there's really been a game that allowed you to satisfactorily roleplay a villain since PS:T, I suppose?
  8. Definitely loved a lot of Arcanum characters. You forgot Garfield Thelonius Remington III (Gar)! Loved that guy. Unfortunately, after a lot of characters join your party, they mostly add no input back into the game. Some characters do at key points, but otherwise, a lot of wasted potential with NPC party member interaction. Yeah, it did feel like you zombified them or something. Yes, Master! Although IIRC wasn't there sort of a not-really-fleshed-out romance with Raven and/or Z'an Allurin? It's been a long time since I played.
  9. In what way? What did they bring that made the game or game world better? Not as an argument, I just don't remember those. Not just by name at least. Well, Raven is probably a bit of a false inclusion - I just like her. Geoffrey is funny and the only character I can think of off the top of my head who represents evil magical snobbish Victorian aristocrat well. Madame Lil I loved for the running of quests for the owner of a brothel; I just can't remember ever getting to play sleazy errand-boy/problem solver in a game before. Lianna Del Par I always remember; she provides a ton of information and flavor to Cumbria. Plus she just seems badass; pretty much anyone who ever played a thiefish character in Arcanum spends most of the start of the game robbing everyone in the first city and/or Dernholm, checks out that sword she's got, tries to pickpocket it, inevitably fails, and then watches as she annihilates you in like two swings. And Cedric Appleby is entirely optional as far as ever interacting with him, but he just makes so much sense as the jealous slightly deranged rival of Bates. I guess I just think a lot of the side characters in Arcanum are realistic and written really well - from the guy who wants proof that his flying machines worked, to the mob bosses in the Boil, etc. They're not just there to be fonts of XP, you really feel like they're somewhat real, with normal people motivations. I always feel bad for Liam's mother when I have to come back and tell her that her son got ganked by a bunch of lizard creatures - even though that's pretty much the only interaction with her in the whole game.
  10. No Arcanum love? Arguably nearly every character in Arcanum is minor, and many of them are awesome. Geoffrey, Raven, Madame Lil, Lianna Del Par, Mr. Appleby - so many great characters in that game.
