As a small kid, I wanted to build stuff (didn't really know the title for it back then). Much to the frustration of my surroundings, as everything was a potential building material and everything was subjected to being hammered, nailed, screwed, glued, taped and stapled together... *ahem*
As a teenager, I wanted to study biology and biochemistry, both of which was my passion in highschool.
As a young man, I wanted to be a programmer and so, for good and for ill, I started on my current carreer path.
I guess I have driven it as far as I can in my current line of work (technical manager in a software development company), so the "what do you want to be" question is a bit hard to answer. Perhaps I might want to go full circle some day, assuming I make enough money to retire early, go back and start studying biology and biochemistry again >_

Making it more viscous means adding more potency, for one thing.
Like a runny nose...

X-Com 3: Apocalypse. Finally got a large Quantum Physics research lab built, so I can speed up my research of the juicier alien technology. About time too, I am losing the war of attrition with most of my men and vehicles in various states of disrepair...

Ramza... what in the name of Fish were you doing on a website called "www.gurl.com" in the first place?!?
I looked at the first quiz and was completely unable to come up with any answers. Gave up at the third question.
Tried the second one, ended up with a "Raven"

Has anyone finished the tech demo? It had pretty bad performance for me so I haven't bothered yet. I understand it's only like 15 minutes long?
Ehh... where do you go after the guy in armour says we are close to the entrance and he has to leave? :blush10:

Obsidian also bought some other old Interplay assets, didn't they?
Perhaps they want to build their own little museum. They could open up a bar in the office and call it the Cafe of Broken Dreams >_

Got the same as Deraldin...
No use trying to fight it, you're an eight-sided die, a d8. A fine example of simple elegance, the d8 is one of the least appreciated types of dice, and is often neglected. You are known to be quiet and shy, outward traits that conceal viscous sarcasm and mean wit. You are very smart, yet wise enough to hide your intelligence the quicker they found out how smart you are, the sooner they'll put you to work, which is something you can do without. People call you dark and pessimistic, or moody and cynical. You find little point in arguing.
Next time, I am going to lie to the program.

Urghh! >_
Ok, so I didn't like Oblivion. I still hoped Bethesda wouldn't completely miss the mark though. Not a lot of optimism left

Yay, we are at an all-time low!
...
Umm, why did that sound "wrong" somehow?

I prefer redheads
Unfortunately, the genuine ones are few and far between

Resident Evil (for PC) would be a good candidate. Followed by most things that looks through the eyes of the player character (first person perspective). I just hate the artificial tunnel vision and lack of peripherial vision.

I truly wonder... has progression slowed down lately?
Thing is, bugs are not just bugs. Some are solved quickly, some takes forever (at least it feels so). I think, that the Minor, Trivial, Feature etc. tags is a way of categorising their impact on gameplay, not on bugfixing time. E.g. a minor issue could take three free evenings to fix whereas a tweak could take several weekends of spare time.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Spoken like a true Sith Lord

I voted cinematics.
The story in K1 left me quite unimpressed and the story in K2 was cut to pieces and left half the pieces out of the game.
I loved both the in-game and the rendered cutscenes in both games though.

X-Com 3 Apocalypse
The guy(s) who wrote Dosbox deserves an award...

...having horror visions of a galaxy where 90% of the population is either jedi masters or sith lords...
...filled with cackling evil laughter...
...Yoda/Gremlin lookalike ninjas flipping all over the place...
...people on the street instantly sprouting jedi powers if you greet them...
...worlds suffering from famine and disease with light sabers in every empty piece of pottery and former bread baskets...
...the most common family name is "Darth"...
...black markets where crystals are sold at prices that makes real world black market plutonium seem cheap by comparison...
...The Horror!...

Well, hello Gorth. Nice to see a familiar skull...
Well, hello Lord Elden. Nice to see a familiar Paladin...
How do you explain the beauty 8x8 pixel modifed ascii charaters in 16 colours to a crowd who is more worried about clipping errors, shader models and badly designed ragdoll physics?

Including live and dead ones...
Interplay (pre-BIS)
Black Isle Studios
Origin (before they degenerated)
SSI
Paradise Programming/Datasoft
Epyx
Only including live ones...
Obsidian
Bioware
Umm... are there anyone left?

Acctually I was talking about WWII, how they all presumed Operation Market Garden was going to be a success, and thus allow armour across the Rhine and into Germany, ending the war by Christmas.
It was also the common belief of the allied militaries in 1914 ... and 1915, 1916, and 1917 ...
Operation Barbarossa was planned to last like what? 6 weeks?
Edit: Just to stay on-topic... still 49 issues. Is that good (no increase) or bad (no decrease)?!?

With an engine like Unreal 3, it should be possible to implement a sufficiently realistic physics model for a game of dwarf tossing

Colonialism doesn't really count, as many of the territories weren't considered "sovereign countries" (assumption on my part: not populated by Europeans). You have to be a properly acknowledged sovereign nation state to qualify
Edit: If the colonial powers couldn't argue that the territory wasn't sovereign, they could always try plan B, subversion of neighbours and/or destabilisation which would justify a takeover.

I think he is advocating the principle of Westphalian Sovereignty
I could look that up, but I'm assuming you can inform us in a more entertaining fashion.
Lazy bugger...
http://www.answers.com/topic/westphalian-sovereignty
Short version:
Westphalian sovereignty is the concept of nation-state sovereignty based on two principles: territoriality and the exclusion of external actors from domestic authority structures.
I.e. countries should mind their own business. It was all the rage in 1648

Hmm. Insufficient Data, Unable to Compute!
A few more questions about your setup then...
Is your modem in addition to an existing connection?
If so, is it set as your primary internet connection (instead of your old/existing one)?
Have you set up default gateway and DNS in your tcp/ip configuration for your modem connection?
Does the 'ipconfig' command give any hints as to what your computer thinks it is doing right now?
Depending on the answers, more questions may follow...
What are you playing now?

Isn't that a bug with the military base? Once you go there, the button turns black. Never really noticed it as a problem though, as the above mentioned 'S' key is much more convenient for the skilldex menyu
