  1. I just did a month so I could watch Birds of Prey. But there are a few good shows to binge. The first season of True Detective, Barry, and Silicon Valley. There are also a bunch of quality documentaries.
  2. We've had multiple protests in our town in the last couple months and there has been zero property damage. There is nothing to clean up. Also, the communities are the protesters in the vast majority of these cases. That is what happens the vast majority of the time. Of course, the ones that get violent are the ones that make the news.
  3. We could probably just agree that running over protesters with your car is bad, and pulling people out of cars and beating them to death is also bad, instead of choosing one over the other.
  4. Birds of Prey - It was fantastic. Rosie Perez was a treat. I guess her superpower is not aging.
  5. I've been reading John Ringo's books and its pretty clear he was military.
  6. I think it's more interesting that we have a President who keeps giving asshats huge chances in our government.
  7. Suicide Squad looks fun, and it will be interesting who they kill off quickly.
  8. https://www.kongregate.com/games/mazapan/you-have-to-burn-the-rope Best short game ever made.
  9. Oops, your SonicMage is showing.
  10. You trippin'
  11. You are going to need a buttload more isolated incidents to demonstrate a trend though. It's a big country.
  12. Well that is disturbing. Maybe I will just send Mitsoda my $60 instead of buying the game.
  13. On Tuesday nights, I take part in a ridiculous bike ride, where my goal is usually just to hand on as long as possible before getting dropped. It's about 25 miles around a reservoir. My fastest time is 65 minutes, but most of the guys do it in about 55 minutes. Given the temperature and air quality, I wasn't sure if it would happen last night, but sure enough there were plenty of people ready to go in the 100 degree heat. I also thought maybe it will be a bit more mellow, since the air quality is not great right now. I was wrong, and a few guys hammered the first hill off the front. There is only one regroup on this ride, about 10 miles in at the top of the second big climb. After getting dropped on the first climb, I pushed through to the regroup area with a small group of stragglers. My water bottle was already serving hot water, and I was gassed. Thankfully, one of the guys who lead the ride said "I'll buy anyone who wants to turn around with me a beer!" That was all I needed to cut my ride short, so I headed back with a small group. Discretion is the better part of valor.
  14. So far TB mode is great and makes me interesting in the whole combat system.
  15. People live in the central valley? I thought that was just a place we drive through to get to our vacation homes.
  16. We used to have a firearm thread for you nerds. It's like you guys are speaking Klingon. Although I did learn a lot of this stuff playing Jagged Alliance 2.
  17. Honestly though, it is rarely about how high the temperature gets and more about how long it stays up there. The vast majority of the days, you hit the highest temp around 3-4 PM and then it starts cooling off around 5-6 PM. We get an ocean breeze most nights that makes a huge difference. So 90's during the afternoon are not an issue when it drops to 50 at night. Don't ask me what that translates to in Celsius. Time to go ride the bike before it gets too hot.
  18. It ain't hot until we hit triple digits farenheit. This is a weird week though. Very tropical right now.
  19. When does the official TB mode come out?
  20. California is great. We only get a week of hot weather a year. Also no humidity, which is way worse in my experience.
  21. We are having a heat wave as well. I did track early and it was already hot and humid by 7. I was going to flake on a bike ride, but one of my riding buddies was sitting in my driveway when I got home, so I had no way out of that. Now we are all huddled in our one room with the AC unit.
  22. I am sure it will sound like an excuse, but maybe most children aged 6-18 are not all that receptive to learning history. It is much easier to be enaged in history once you've lived long enough to have some context and insight into the world around you.
