    And yes, sometimes animal populations get out of control re: human settlements, and I suppose I understand that too...overpopulated deer starving is part of nature's way, and if people want to hurry the process a little for meat and prudence, so be it.

     

     

    It's not just that the hunters want meat, it's the disease that follows the hunger and starvation that's the real bitch. 'Specially since a lot of it spreads over into other species.

    One day, one day I'm going to open an amusment park. I'm going to put 45 hunters in a big open field with no weapon, and dunk the in barbeque sauce. Then I'm going to let wild animals lose and watch the hunters get eaten alive. I'll make millions. Of course, we'll have a coupon day so that even poor people can enjoy it!

     

    Hunting is wrong. Killing a defensless animal who did nothing wrong is pointless. To anybody who thinks it's "a manly thing to do" should join the army. At least the people you'll be shooting at there will know how to shoot back.

    Here in the country, it's still wild enough that the herbivores and small carnivores (birds of prey and such) are around, but whenever a large predator like a mountain lion or bear shows up, we either shoot them or relocate them, because they're dangerous not only to the livestock but the people. Personally I don't really agree with this practice, but because of it, the ecosystem is out of whack and the prey populations skyrocket. Hunting is a neccessity if only to keep the prey populations healthy. When there's too many deer, they run out of food and start getting sickly and dying.

    Is it as good for you as it is for me Obsidian? I'd gotten rather attached to the Hell Mage, and I'm not sure if Hitler masquerading as Luigi in Mushroom Kingdom is offensive or not.

    If you want to cry foul when the guys around here make sexist jokes, it'd really help if you didn't crack sexist remarks about men.

     

    Humans have long progressed past primal instinct.  There's society/morals and all the sticky rules involved.

    I had the misfortune of reading "The vampire lestat" and I have o say it was about as good as the movie (Queen of the damned) which is to say it stunk badly.. 

     

    Its extremely depressing that good writers starve while complete morons with no talet or taste whatsoever like Rice sell by the millions. I think having poor taste should be punishable by death, it would greatly improve the world.

     

     

    I'm enjoying it. <shrugh>
