Assuming POE gets out of the gate with no major issues I'd be willing to back something else. It would have to be a pretty spectacular idea for me to back it before any hands on time with POE however.

Here's hoping we see some spears and polearms like these in the game. I especially like the 8th weapon on the top pic and the 1st / 8th on the bottom. I wonder how the numbers for weapons in each category are going to break down once the game goes live? I'd assume we will have a pretty large selection of weapons in most cases.

It seems to me that a lot of people get confused by racist vs racially insensitive. In my personal opinion: Racist = Deliberate attempt to insult, humiliate, or damage someone based primarily on race. Racially Insensitive = Not realizing an action, statement, or depiction of a specific race is hurtful to members of said race. At the end of the day when I play a game I try to create a character as close to myself in appearance and action as I can. That's my play style, that's what I find fun. I don't have problems playing as a white guy. The vast majority of games I play are as white males because that is the only option the devs put forth. Is there anything wrong with that? No, of course not. If a developer wants to make a game where the protagonist is a white male that's great. However, I would personally find great satisfaction in being able to make a character inspired by African culture and have them dress accordingly. Every human brings a different point of view to any discussion. 100% consensus is impossible with humanity on almost every conceivable topic. That being said, making an intelligent and thoughtful effort to create a race / faction in a video game inspired by a real race or faction in my opinion by its very nature couldn't be classified as racist.

I agree whole heartedly. It would be awesome if the Vailians drew more inspirations from Africa Prime influences.

Naval combat would be totally *awesome* if it could be implemented correctly. It could however drastically expand the scope of the game beyond what is reasonable. Although, they could make a very specific scenario where naval combat takes place.

mounted combat would be pretty awesome but I think it's beyond the scope of PE for a first run. Hopefuly we will see it later in the series. If everything goes as planned that is.

I seriously hope we get more spear / polearm weapons. I love spears but I've rarely seen them in games. Axes, swords, staffs, and daggers are all great but I'd still take a great spear anyday of the week.

Old school RPG elements, plot, and complex companions.

I'm personally in favor of multi-classing although I rarely use and I doubt with PE that would change.
