Not really. Chocolate contains phenethylamine, which is a precursor chemical to the neurotransmitters adrenaline, noradrenaline and dopamine. But not only is it rather weak in potency as a neurotransmitter in its own right, it doesn't get past the blood-brain barrier, and is destroyed in the bloodstream after about 5 minutes. Furthermore, 'love' is feelings regulated by endorphins (natural opiates), endocannibonoids, oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin, mainly. Chocolate contains none of these, and even if it did, again, they'd be mostly destroyed in the blood stream before they reached the brain. Unless you're taking a strong MAOI, the most you could work with is this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chocolate#Aphrodisiac- Members of the forum who are no more

Perhaps so. But I can't help but feel it's because he thinks he somehow deserves to be ahead. Indeed - he went on to claim Obama has done nothing to earn his lead in the polls, whilst he, of course has been working very hard. Sorry McCain, the sympathy vote might have worked with the PoW claims, but this is stretching it.- US Presidential Elections 2
"The underlying differences between the Republican and Democratic Parties boils down to a very simple thing. The Republicans believe that the power of the Government should be used, first of all, to help the rich and privileged people of this country. With them property comes first. The Democrats believe that the powers of the Government should be used to give the common man some protection, and a chance to make a decent living. With the Democrats the people come first. The Democratic Party is a political organization that has a heart--it cares about the people--it cares about all the people, rich and poor alike. The Republican Party is ruled by a little group of men who have calculating machines where their hearts ought to be. Sometimes the Republicans aid their clientele by special favors--like the rich man's tax cut bill which was passed by the 80th Congress over my veto--or like their attempts to give away the Nation's oil resources to all the big oil interests. Sometimes the Republicans aid their special friends by doing nothing--by a philosophy of each man for himself and the devil take the hindmost. That's why they've fought such measures as minimum wage laws, social security, and the protection of the right of labor unions to organize. All these things and others like them have been opposed by the Republicans." ---Harry S Truman October 6, 1952- US Presidential Elections 2
McCain's new mode of attack on Obama is to claim "Life isn't fair" when asked about Obama's success in the polls compared to his failure. Does McCain want to lose?- What you did today

LOLZ! He was retarded. He tried to be a troll but came off looking like a clown. I'd rant on him all of the time. Clearly you taught him a thing or two.- Canadian Election 2008

It was brilliant. He'd come in every day or two and top it up when it was about to die out. He was always trolling, so how could you know he was a jerk?- Members of the forum who are no more
I remember him from the BIS boards. He usually started stupid threads and never posted in them again. He was a strange one. He was legend, single handedly starting the Tarrasque rumor. Funny... But he was still a jerk. Looks like somebody's parents beat their sense of humour out of them at an early age.- Members of the forum who are no more
I remember him from the BIS boards. He usually started stupid threads and never posted in them again. He was a strange one. I believe it's called 'trolling'.- Mrs. Palin is well informed
Don't worry, it won't change anything. The first time I read about Palin I was reading a Tina Fey impersonation. It was ridiulous. I laughed but thought "haha alright, now I'll go check what Palin actually said." You can imagine my surprise when I realised that Tina Fey didn't change anything.- Rick Astley - Nominated for the best act ever!
I'm sorry, but I cannot in good conscience endorse an inferior act. We all know , really.- Canadian Election 2008
Marijuana is decriminalized in BC. You get fined for posession, but its less than a speeding ticket. Oh seriously? That's like half the states here. I thought in Canada it was illegal and criminalised, but the cops and courts always looked the other way unless you were a dealer or they wanted to bust you for something else. But if BC actually decriminalised it, that's excellent news. Oh, I just noticed the Criminal Intelligence Services of Canada recently filed a report that explains how marijuana prohibition fuels organised crime. Nice to see a country waking up.- Canadian Election 2008
