  1. Crystal meth doesn't rot your teeth. It's a combination of teeth grinding, not brushing your teeth, and eating primarily junk food (especially soft drinks) while on it which is what causes 'meth mouth'. There's nothing chemically dangerous about meth for your teeth. So brush your teeth, avoid fizzy drinks, and grab some chewing gum if you find yourself grinding your teeth.
  2. Joe Biden sees his son leave for war today: http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/200...03/1488949.aspx It's pretty amazing that Palin can delude herself by claiming Biden wants to surrender Iraq when just the next day his son deploys there. EDIT: Common sense prevails; the rescue package passed 263 to 171.
  3. And yet, Truman's description of them 60 years ago isn't much different to how many describe them now. Maybe some things have changed, but the basic idea remains: they oppose government improvement in welfare, healthcare, and education. It is for these things that Truman despised them, and it is also for these things (among others) they are disliked today. Also, Truman made that speech in the mid 50's, not the 20's. I think the Great Depression was definitely over then.
  4. I find getting drunk and ranting emotionally about it to a friend who doesn't give a ****, but is nonetheless sympathetic, often helps. Very cathartic.
  5. Thanks. I think every dev will make a good game with good gamer advice. Only not everybody's capable of good advice (sounds presumptuous eh?) I basically said the same thing on Bioware's forum only to be mobbed by rabid fanboys who think that KOTOR 1 is the next best thing after pre-sliced bread... Look, I just fundamentally disagree.
  6. Instead of answering my question with a question, you could simply clarify what you mean.
  7. Can people please stop calling Sarah Palin 'folksy'? I don't know about America, but over here we call people with that attitude 'dumb****s'. If we have to be politically correct we use 'bogan' or 'yobbo'.
  8. They believe in the mechanics of some abstract monetary market over the welfare ofsociety; they dehumanise themselves in my books, leaving Truman stating only the truth.
  9. What are you trying to say? Don't vote for them because they won't get enough power? That's like saying vote for the guy you're against so that he gets enough power to do the things you probably don't agree with. The first-past-the-post system that America and Canada use is pretty ****ed up, for these reasons and more. I'm surprised they haven't switched to proportional representation or preferential voting yet.
  10. Truman didn't dehumanise them; he painted the truth. They think the market is an end not a means; that's pretty inhumane to begin with.
  11. Not really - Truman was only speaking the truth. I just got confused when you went into 4chan mode talking about lolipops.
  12. I don't get the point of having an alt. I don't have enough time to spend here on one account, how could you possibly need two?
  13. Let me know when Bioware stops sucking.

  15. Not really. Chocolate contains phenethylamine, which is a precursor chemical to the neurotransmitters adrenaline, noradrenaline and dopamine. But not only is it rather weak in potency as a neurotransmitter in its own right, it doesn't get past the blood-brain barrier, and is destroyed in the bloodstream after about 5 minutes. Furthermore, 'love' is feelings regulated by endorphins (natural opiates), endocannibonoids, oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin, mainly. Chocolate contains none of these, and even if it did, again, they'd be mostly destroyed in the blood stream before they reached the brain. Unless you're taking a strong MAOI, the most you could work with is this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chocolate#Aphrodisiac
  16. Perhaps so. But I can't help but feel it's because he thinks he somehow deserves to be ahead. Indeed - he went on to claim Obama has done nothing to earn his lead in the polls, whilst he, of course has been working very hard. Sorry McCain, the sympathy vote might have worked with the PoW claims, but this is stretching it.
  17. "The underlying differences between the Republican and Democratic Parties boils down to a very simple thing. The Republicans believe that the power of the Government should be used, first of all, to help the rich and privileged people of this country. With them property comes first. The Democrats believe that the powers of the Government should be used to give the common man some protection, and a chance to make a decent living. With the Democrats the people come first. The Democratic Party is a political organization that has a heart--it cares about the people--it cares about all the people, rich and poor alike. The Republican Party is ruled by a little group of men who have calculating machines where their hearts ought to be. Sometimes the Republicans aid their clientele by special favors--like the rich man's tax cut bill which was passed by the 80th Congress over my veto--or like their attempts to give away the Nation's oil resources to all the big oil interests. Sometimes the Republicans aid their special friends by doing nothing--by a philosophy of each man for himself and the devil take the hindmost. That's why they've fought such measures as minimum wage laws, social security, and the protection of the right of labor unions to organize. All these things and others like them have been opposed by the Republicans." ---Harry S Truman October 6, 1952
  18. McCain's new mode of attack on Obama is to claim "Life isn't fair" when asked about Obama's success in the polls compared to his failure. Does McCain want to lose?
  19. You should eat more apples. Plenty of flavonoids, antioxidants, and dietary fibre.
