  1. Your ears receive the sound, not generate it. Thats not answering the original question, is it? Oops. Yes, it does make a sound, even if no one's there to hear it. Does the process of listening to the sound change the observed event? Would the tree have fallen if you hadn't listened for it? Unless you stand where the tree is falling, no. Yes, it would have. Prove it (been reading too much Einstein/Bohr debates recently after Schroedingers birthday a few days ago) On that note, they've made some neat advances in quantum computing lately: http://www.physorg.com/news168791155.html
  2. If I buy these games from the Valve store will they be shipped to me or do I have to download them?
  3. Sounds good. Burn Notice style.
  4. If you get caught drink driving in Australia they generally throw the book at you.
  5. Also, this game looks lame.
  6. Torment only had 3 classes also. Fallout had none.

It was I. Finland is well represented on that list. Ahab, Mystique and Ankara Halla are all finnish. Seriously?
  8. I was just wondering if anyone knew if u could grab arms or legs off the dead guys that u kill and use them as weapons.
  9. You have to take it to the mad monk living underground in the Elven Shrine of Chaos.
  10. Oh dear. I hope it will have the therapeutic value of the WP grenades in deus ex. Setting a whole squad of MJ12 goons on fire with a single shot... *sigh*
  11. That's fine as long as: the list is not revealed to you, and you don't have some sort of 'achievement counter'.
  12. Maybe if they dropped the price down to about $10, it would get more sales. Just a suggestion. Say the average game sells for $40 and they expect to get 1 million sales with that price. Then if they want to sell it for $20 on the potential of increased sales they need to sell 2 million copies. Now it's quite possible that such a price reduction would end up selling 3 or 4 million copies instead (probably), but how do you model that? So you can see the dilemma here: what's the sweet point for cost that maximises profit? It's certainly not the highest number you can think of, but it's also not the lowest. Unfortunately, I fear most game publishers these days fall on the "as high as you can think of" end of the spectrum.
  13. Not really. Deus Ex was shooter first, "lite" RPG second, while Bloodlines was RPG first, shooter second. Thanks for a meaningless and inaccurate post Morgoth. I rely on you for these things.
  14. You poor little thing.
  15. I tried the "search" but did not find my answer there ... how does the ammunition work in Alpha Protocol? To begin with, it didn't. I did get that much. I guess not much is know about this, right? I was expecting the ammo to be something like Resident Evil 5 (all rifles use "rifle ammo", all pistols use "handgun ammo", ...) but with non-random ammo loot based on the enemy weapons. You can certainly expect that. Would be a nice touch if it were like Fallout but I doubt it.
  16. This seems like a fun acheivement to try to get, I'd like to know how this would be possible after watching all the action gameplay videos. It looked like stealth had a very limited timer and that enemies were alerted very quickly. Is this refering to Knock Out martial arts techniques or stun darts or something? It shouldn't have anything to do with that stupid 'achievement' system. It only lessens the value of actually achieving it.
  17. Chaos is comfortable.
  18. I tried the "search" but did not find my answer there ... how does the ammunition work in Alpha Protocol? To begin with, it didn't. Now now, don't confuse him. To answer the question, probably the same way as in Deus Ex. 1 or 2? Please don't say 2.
  19. Yeah the game treats Anna as dead. You have to damage her enough till she runs and opens the door on her way. Blocking Anna and going after Alex so he opens the door also works. Gunther and Simons can be run from easily.

The species that Japan hunts are on the brink of extinction and the Japanese have started to increase culling of specifically the most endangered species as a way to 'pressure' the Australian and New Zealand governments to crack down on Sea Shepard. How's that for ****ed up?
  23. I run faster than a robot, thank you very much! I would hope so, I want to actually enjoy hunting you down. Not much fun if you can't outrun a robot, is it? Good luck seeing straight you silly drunk!
