  1. ok, one thing, bioware would have done a whole lot better with kotor2 because the have the balls to tell lucasarts that they need more then 12 months to finish a game such as kotor2... obsidian on the other hand... does not... they arnt as big as bioware is....

Very true. Hopefully Obsidian will have that ability someday. But they need to get some really good releases under their belt first. Here is hoping on NWN2.

  2. well, Hannibal Barka, Julius Caeser, Charlemagne and Chinghiz Khan were all male and they were brilliant strategists. No offence, but I can't remember a female one, who can stand close to them.

To the best of my knowledge none of those guys were Jedi so they dont figure in this conversation. :)"

Anyway if you set Revan to be male you get the chance to see Bastilla a few times but you cannot actually talk to her.

  3. but I heard there was supposed to be some place where you could designate Revan as a man or woman and light or dark side. I don't remember ever getting that.

Huh its right at the beginning

Its when you talk to Atton right after you free him in the Paragus mining station, that conversation determines whether Revan was male/female LS/DS

  4. One hopes that Obsidian follows the path of Paradox entertainment in standing by their products.  Paradox is a Swedish company that has developed some great titles like Europa Universalis II and Victoria: an Empire under the Sun.  At the initial release, there were some unresolved bugs...perhaps the developers had been rushed at first, but they listened closely to player feedback and were still issuing patches and updates a full two years after the game had been released.  Certainly they could have just taken the money and abandoned the product, like so many other developers.  At two years after release, there was little money for them to be made.  It was simply an issue of integrity.  And what they accomplished was remarkable.  With good patches, good listening to feedback, and continued support, turned EU2 and Victoria from good, slightly bugged games into outstanding, timeless classics that met their full potential.

Paradox is a rare company indeed. I have never seen any business so devoted to its products or its customers. If only every developer were like them :(

  5. what alot of you seem to be forgetting is that the true genius behind the whole stars wars concept is george lucas, if it wasnt for him we never would have had star wars!!

and what the guy said earlier about taking the films for what they are as kids films was spot on. they are primarily aimed at kids, but are just so good that adults love them as well.

lets face it, all the people in here having a go at him for 'ruining' their beloved star wars (er is it not george lucas' beloved star wars?) have these people even achieved 1% of what he has (and im talking when you add all their acheivments together!)

    thought not

True. But I fail to see why this means we are not allowed to have opinions on his latest work.

  6. I don't understand.. The version of Pool of Radiance I played on my Commodore 64 started out in a big city, yes, but then the story forked out and let you travel the lands and explore ruins, towers, graveyards, islands and lots more. Wasn't it like that for everyone? :(

Yep you could explore the area around the city...but the story and the setting was completely focused on one city.

  7. More than that, it'd also have town and village exploration similar to the old SSI DnD games like Pool Of Radiance

You know Pool of Radiance's concept of a game taking place in a single city was pretty cool, would like to see it done again right. You could really develope the setting and the characters without having to have 7 major planets with very little in them. Of course people would probably just complain there are not enough environments <_<

  8. I am not the last Jedi.

    That's all that matters.

    Game over.

The game tells you exactly why the Sith think you are the last Jedi:

Atris, who is one of the few who knows about your existance, spreads the rumor throughout the Republic and arranges for you to return from exile-that sends the Republic and the Sith looking for you. Why she does this I dont exactly remember. That is why Kreia and Sion find you in Peragus.

It took me awhile to piece it together. Anyway its Star Wars continuity is hard to come by

  9. BTW you dont have amnesia in this game.

Your character fought in the Mandalorian Wars and was exiled for doing that by the Jedi Council...remember the Jedi Council did not want Revan and Co. to go fight the Mandalorians from the first game? While your class is Jedi you are no longer a Jedi Knight. And you are back to level 1 for some reason...but it will all make sense later on.

Dont really think those are spoilers but just to be safe

  10. Yeah the influence system doesn't really work if the alignments of the characters dont ever really change. As much fun as it was to have lightsider HK-47 he was still a bloodthirsty droid  I liked the characters themselves alot better than the KOTOR crew though.

My favorite WTF moment from the KOTOR series is on Taris when you have the whole Sith Army occupying the planet looking for Bastilla and then you can have her running around in front of Sith patrols waving her Lightsaber around and they just stroll along. I suddenly lost all respect for the Dark Side :)
