  1. Wonder if you could tune that into something that goes with the second verse of the old British Army Ballad "I Don't Want to Join the Army":
  2. Holy Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, this looks amazing: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=770691721 If this comes though, looking forward to sending Akulas, Victors, and Udaloys to Davey Jones' Locker.
  3. I made the trip to San Diego to see the Miramar Air Show last weekend: Some of the F/A-18Cs and AV-8B Harrier IIs on the flightline before taking the tram to the main show area. Easily my favourite static display at the show, the B-1B Lancer. An iconic Cold Warrior: An up close and personal look at the AN/AAQ-33 "Sniper" Advanced Targeting Pod mounted on said aircraft: And a look inside its internal bomb bay: Another classic, a USAF F-4E Phantom II: Next, a KC-135 Stratotanker. Appropriately enough, it was directly ahead of the Bone: The public was given the opportunity to enter the aircraft, and despite my greatest wish to get some pictures from the boom operator's station, the wait was simply too long and we had to make haste to get front row spots on the flightline. "Growlers! Look, baby! EA-18G Growlers!" I yelped to my girlfriend. For some inexplicable reason she appeared disinterested and gave me a "I'm happy for you" look before turning her attention to the $11 craft beer stands in the 96 degree San Diego heat.
  4. I remember rolling on the ground in laughter when I used my Jedi Mind Tricks on him for that quest.
  5. Try a five year old that somehow managed to have Alzheimer's, exhibit A:

  7. needs the appropriate logo or perhaps HA! Good Fun! I remember seeing one squadron emblem that depicted Hobbes in a position ready to pounce. I can't quite remember whether it was for an F-117 squadron or an OH-58D Kiowa Warrior team and for the life of me I can't find it now. Nevertheless I found it quite apropos for a "low-observable" aircraft.
  8. Lol, is she drunk or on Ambien there? Might have been Dae'esh. Could just as easily have been high school morons, right-wing militias, disgruntled employee going postal, white supremacist, crazed BLM guy, and so forth. What people fail to realise is that while the folks like Christopher Harper-Mercer, Dylann Root, Eliott Rodger, Omar Mateen, Micah Johnson et al attach themselves to different causes, they're all part of the same phenomenon and are cut from the same cloth of maladjusted losers. I don't know if people quite remember this, but North America has had mass shootings for decades before this.
  9. They ought to try _building_ a party over years rather than just having one every four.
  10. It kind of occurs to me that I don't find Adam Jensen's non-lethal takedowns in Mankind Divided (which often boil down to palm-striking a dude in the Adam's Apple) as entertaining as the ones from Human Revolution. What else? Playing through the Original Sin 2 Early Access. Turns out the the elf character I'm playing _really_ doesn't react well to authority, and as such when I commit to roleplaying I'm stepping on far more toes than I normally would in an RPG. My inner min-maxer is howling in agony.
  11. Am I the only one here who finds it more than a little hilarious how Trump is giving a speech on the economy in a luxury hotel that was famous not only for being featured in Scent of a Woman but also for being bought out by a Chinese insurance firm? Actually, the State Department stopped using it due to concerns that the rooms were bugged by Chinese intelligence.
  12. The X-32. Boeing's failed bid for JSF, losing out of course to what was then Lockheed Martin's X-35.
  13. Apart from MGSV, I thought the high watermark for open world, "see-that-mountain-you-can-go-there" games was New Vegas and ever since I've kind of been tapped out on that form of game. Even as beautiful as Skyrim in its time was my playtime for that paled in comparison to New Vegas and *gasp* Oblivion, to say nothing of the fact that I haven't touched Fallout 4 yet.
  14. Likely at least a Test and Evaluation wing for trials of new munitions and sensor and software upgrades. I know for a fact there will at least be one doing a flight demo for Fleet Week later this month
  15. Dieter loads a DM121A1 HEAT round into the breech of the 120mm L/55 Rheinmetall. "MZ geladen, Alle Waffen feuerbereit, Hydraulik ist Ein, klar zum Gefecht!" "Scheisswetter..." the commander remarks before ducking back into the turret and buttoning down the hatch. He remembered an Israeli maxim that went "A tank loses 60% of its effectiveness with its commander buttoned up." Then thank god for the "Peri's" second generation thermal imaging suite. Looking at a Finnish Leopard 2A4, which only had a daylight "Peri". The gunner's sight with his own TIS. A few minutes into our border patrol and all seems to be quiet... "Feindliche Schützen!" the commander shouts, observing some Little Green Men being somewhere where they shouldn't. Shortly thereafter an RPG-22 narrowly misses the tank "Give them a taste of the MG-3! I want that barrel glowing red!" The gunner's co-axial machine gun roars while the loader opens up with the pintle-mounted MG-3. The Marder lets them have it with their 20mm autocannons. The Danish Infantry squad dismounts from their Piranhas to mop up what managed to survive the onslaught. Once the dust settles, the group is given orders to proceed and investigate one of the border posts that have ceased contact with HQ. What they find isn't promising:
  16. I thought the fight was easy. Getting into the vents, one level up to the terminal. Befriend the turrets for a little distraction. Shoot down the flying robots with AP ammo. Then on top where the terminal is, is another vent- you can use it to quickly move "inside" and "outside" of the big hall, therefore making it so he can't reach you. Whenever he is confused and can't find you, shoot him with grenade launcher or AP ammo. Got him down in 5 minutes or something. Try fifteen seconds. Cloak, stun-gun, takedown. All the robits and turrets promptly blow up once he goes down.
  17. This dude agrees:
  18. I do think Obama's administration and the rest of the world understands him, which is why there have been ample opportunities for Putin to cash out early and still come out on top and have business go on as usual up until mid to late 2013 when Putin started his new Cold War. Assad could have been "asked" to step down willingly by Putin to live comfortably in exile in some Black Sea dacha while a general with at least mildly less blood on his hands took his place. He could have let Maidan run its course and Ukraine would likely have kept going on as it has while periodically vacillating back into Russia's camp, and now it's unlikely it will ever return to Russia's fold (barring full scale invasion). Putin could have contented himself with Crimea and while it would remain a sticking point like Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and Transnistria it would be something the rest of the world could work through. Now he has the blood of thousands (plus that of the 298 people on MH17) on his hands and millions of displaced. Simply put, just like Trump with this campaign, Putin has too big of an ego to walk away while he still had money in his pocket.
  19. Steel Beasts 4.0, with some new crewable beasts in the stable, including: Leopard 2A6 And Marder 1A5. Have a step into my office: And to my left, the loader, Dieter, at the ready: Accompanying us today on our patrol is a Danish Motorised Infantry squad in their Mowag Piranha IIIs. And scout section in MB G 250s: "Fahrer! Panzer vorwärts! Marsch!"
  20. Donald Trump’s Campaign Stands By Embrace of Putin People might think the US is going to hell in a hand basket with a diminishing middle class and ever divisive identity politics... THERE IS ABSOLUTELY _NOTHING_ ABOUT PUTIN'S GOVERNANCE ANYONE WHO ASPIRES TO CINC SHOULD ADMIRE OR SEEK TO EMULATE. Well, unless your thing is re-nationalisation of failed industries, f** drags, covering up the shootdown of a 777, assassination of journalists, and the seizure of other people's property (which I suppose explains Trump's predilection for eminent domain).
  21. He seems a rather jovial fellow. Wouldn't mind having a few shots of vodka with him. Describing a trip to an American supermarket:
