*whistles innocently*
I don't think your fooling anyone
He's not. Anything that fluffy and sugary is up to no good.
...says someone with
"Rub my belly....you know you want to...give in to the temptation...and don't mind the resulting love scratches and bites." as signature
scratches and bites!

"Fluffy wamblers are small humanoids that can be found the world over in good regions. They are known and beloved for their warm hearts, gentle natures, and stumble bumblings."
Checked out that link. Just too cute xD
I will share my fluffly position with you, Virodhi.

Oh why not? It's not like my bank account can hate me any more at this point.
Put me down as "Fluffy Wambler of the Obsidian Order".
But what about my position as the only fluffy thing on the Obsidian Order?
Pretty sure you're the only marshmallow, if that's any consolation...
I don't think that's going to last... A soon as someone bites Fluffle you'll have another weremarshmallow around...
Yeah if anybody ever wondered how weremarshmallows reproduce: This is it.

Hey Fluffle... what is it like being a yummie piece of sugar that everyone wants to eat?
Be warned, I am a weremarshmallow. Everyone who bites me will turn into a weremarshmallow him/herself too

@Jasede
Funny, after your comment I couldn't help but notice your avatar. Seems quite huggable to me
On topic:
Well what do the devs owes us? Actually only the things under the tiers for which we have pledged.
If you have donated 8$ for a title, then that is what you get: a title.
Pleding on KS or for the 8$ dollar title is actually out of having faith.
You do not know how the game will turn out to be exactly.
In the moment you pledge on it, you should be aware of that.
I wonder: If you pledge on KS or for the title and then put up demands that
the game should be designed to your own whishes - how sincere is your faith then?
And seriously, KS does not work without faith.
There is always the option of waiting for when the game comes out.
Then check some reviews of the community
(better avoid reviews in magazines but thats another story to tell),
then decide if you want to buy it or not.

@kenup
I agree to a certain extend, which is limited at this point:
To only bring in new features so you can say "We have something completely new", even
if those new features would be significantly worse.
At the same time, you cannot always stick to old features just for the sake
of nostalgia.
As always there needs to be some middle ground and evaluation.
The point is: The process of evaluation is still going on.
And I fear dlux has not realized this.
It is not about to make the game just like dlux wants it.
I rather would make it clear to him that this process of evaluation is going on
and that he, like everybody else, should participate.

The worst thing is, that the features that made dlux leave are still under
discussion as Feargus Urquhart said himself:
Obsidian EntertainmentQuick question - I heard something we did made dlux unhappy?
Obsidian Entertainment@Adric The XP for kills thing is still an ongoing discussion here. Our goal is to
make this a game that is reminiscent of the IE games and in my mind that does
mean XP for kills. We just need to balance with other systems.
Obsidian Entertainment@DeDawg I was on the fence about the Stamina / Health thing as well.
My thought on it right now is that it is worth implementing (not a ton of work)
and then we can see how it feels. If it doesn't feel good, then we will change or pull it.

Emotional blackmail. I disapprove.
You can see right through my schemes. xD

Dear Dlux,
some of us are confused and sad that
you have decided to pull off your pledge.
I already stated my mind about this in
our order thread (please check it out).
When you come back here on the forum,
I want to make sure you see how people miss you.
This is what this thread is for.
People will leave their personal message here for you.
I repeat what I've posted on the other thread.
Backing up KS is a question of faith.
Juding a game based on updates and tidbits is not easy, because
you do not see the whole picture until you have played the game.
But more importantly, the features that seem to have appalled you
are still under discussion. Feargus Urquhart himself asked about
the matter with you on KS as you will see in my quotes below.
No matter what dlux,
thanks again for your effort you have put in the Obsidian Order.
Some quotes from the kickstarter comment page:
Elfwyn 1st Ranger of the Obsidian OrderI do not know much about dlux, other than that he made great contributions to the
PE campaign, and that some of the gameplay concepts as disclosed by Obsidian did not fullfill his expectations.
I for one trust that Obsidian will listen to the community even after the Kickstarter has ended,
and if some gameplay concepts prove to be worse than anticipated, those will be uncovered
and fixed in time for the release. Most of the Beta Testers are recruited from our midst.
Rodrigo Roman - Obsidian Order Scholar@all members Hug. *goes back to the library to write the exploits of the great
dark knight and righteous paladin dlux*
LC - Grand Master of the Obsidian Order@Ohad
We owe him the honour, dont' you think? Together with Farudan he was the heart of the
whole thing. Without him we're only a bunch of people who pledged a little bit more and
have some silly names. I don't mind to say that in public since the Order is a public thing
and I don't think it' a bother for all the newcomers.... :/
LC - Grand Master of the Obsidian OrderThe Order will never be the same without dlux....
"One good member. An extraordinary member. What levy must be paid for such a thing?"
Silver, Obsidian Order's Grey Eminence@Ohad
I don't know really. Maybe dlux just lost faith in PE, but I can only speculate.
Dlux put in a lot of work though, that's something
to be grateful for. Everyone has the right to choose which projects they want to back, if any.
Tech - Obsidian Order's First CipherHmm maybe one of us in the OO can dedicate a Memorial Stone in dlux's honor.
Now the quotes from Feargus Urquhart on KS comment page:
Obsidian EntertainmentQuick question - I heard something we did made dlux unhappy?

make this a game that is reminiscent of the IE games and in my mind that does

Dlux, instead of leaving, consider staying here.
Actually your concerns about the things you saw in the updates
can help to improve Project Eternity.

Oh and as an afterthought about dlux.
We should not deprive him of his title, unless
he really wishes that.
I mean c'mon he has put quite some effort in the Order.
That should earn him the title anyway.
But still if he has to give up his title, shouldn't we take over
the 8$ so he can keep it?
Unless he really does not want it anymore, that is

Btw, I noticed the same problem arises with the "special thanks in the credits".
Putting real name there?
Or forumname?
Or a combination like "first name" "forumname" "last name" ?
Of course I could put the name of my superior there as well, "His Most Fluffyness, Lord Kerfluffleupogus, Devourer of the Faithful"
So unsure of what to do... xD
-
Cant we open a "dlux we want you back thread"
(or "The Obsidian Order wants YOU, dlux!")
I mean, what I do not understand is that he removed all of his pledges? :/ (Did he?)
He could have lowered it to 25$ + 8$
That's still 33$ for believing in OE.
This is what KS is mainly about. Having faith.
You can read things in the Updates you like or dislike, but in the end
you do not see the whole picture until you have played the game.
Which makes me conclude that the last update and the AMA
must have been so horrific for dlux that he lost
all faith alltogether in anything OE has ever done.
(If he really withdrew his complete pledge, and not just lowered it).
dlux, if u read this please reconsider at least 33$
But yeah in the end it is your decision.
And man if you buy the game in 2014 and you like it, its fine too.
Thank you for your efforts you have put in the Obsidian Order.
We shan't forget you.

Steve: Can you talk a little about the reputation system which you are developing? How will you handle cause and effect in the wider world of Project Eternity?
Feargus: Our reputation system will be similar to what players may have seen in Fallout: New Vegas. As you interact with people in the world, you start to generate a variety of reputations, positive and negative, with the world’s factions and communities. The system tracks both good and bad impressions, so if you save a basket of kittens from a burning house and later punch an old lady in the face, your reputation in that community is not “neutral”, it’s “mixed”.
People from those communities will react to you based on your reputation, but it isn’t always a case of “positive rep” = “good times”. Sometimes being disliked by one group may actually cause another group to approach you favourably. And being liked by a group may result in their enemies coming after you — even if you’ve never done anything to harm them directly."

This screenshot is so reminiscent to the IE Games to me, which actually ties to another memory: Spending hours, days, weeks, months and more
on the Baldur's Gate games and Icewind Dale ones in my youth.
So it has the same effect on me as the announcment of Baldur's Gate Enhance Edition has: I feel like a piece of my childhood/youth
is going to return to me. A piece which I have very much missed lately, and I'm so looking forward to seeing it again.
Thank you Obsidian and all you backers.
I know it's gonna be great.

dlux told me on kickstarter comment page, that he knew of at least two members of the Obsidian Order who
were going to introduce weapons of our Order.
I don't know though if anybody is going to add that shield, though I really would like someone to do so.

First off, people who disagree with the OP may join one of the other various flaming threads. Maybe we can make this thread a place
where people are truly excited about Project Eternity.
This must be a dream come true for Obsidian to make a game they have wanted to for a very long time.
It's not only a dream for them. But a dream for us as well. They share their dream with us.

Feargus just stated it again on the latest update because people keep complaining and still do not understand:
"With each stretch goal hit not only are we adding a new feature, we are also making the entire game larger. The additional money raised lets us add designers, artists, animators, and programmers to help build this incredible new world we are creating. This means adding more reactive quests, choice and consequence opportunities, a varied bestiary, memorable characters, adventure areas, and combat abilities."
This is similar to what I have already posted, though that was what he said on the comments page.
The quote above however is taken from the latest update.

The choice to not exploit bad design doesn't make it any better.
Your choice of calling this design a "bad design" and put this, which is your opinion, as a matter of fact doesn't make it any better either.
I'm fine with this design choice, so are other players. It's a matter of opinion.
And just like I will not let you force me to play a game the way you would enjoy.
I will not let you either force your opinion on me as a fact.
For me putting this as a fact, just shows how you obviously like to force things upon others.
Which is the whole point of this topic, is it not?

Save scumming? Never heard of that term before. Is that some pegorative term to players who want to save the game whenever they want? What then is Checkpoint Saving? Checkpoint scumming?
I don't see the problem with playing a game and then saving it where you are. And then returning to the game later to continue the game where you left off. I don't understand why anyone would be against this way of playing.
Obviously some people like to play without save scumming. And because they like it that way they feel that everybody must be enforced to play the game that way. That would be just.
As I said on the comment kickstarter site:
If you dont like save scumming, then just dont use it. Use one of the hardcore modes, or play a normal game and do not reload when you feel that this reloading is inappropriate.
But please refrain from trying to enforce your way of playing and enjoying a game on other players.
A game should be based on inclusion, not exclusion.
