How do we proceed from here on? I have decided to go for the stretchgoal "Create an Item". What rules do apply for that? The stretchgoal is to raise $5750 of which we already have collected $5334.26 at this point. The deadline is NOT the same anymore as the previous one. For the stretchgoal I pushed it back a little bit. So the new deadline for the stretchgoal is 24th April 2017 23:59 PM. There are a lot of rewards in that tier other than the actual "create an item" reward. So who gets them? This will be parallel to the additional rewards form the "creat a pirate party" tier, with the exception that this time the rewards will go to the donator with the second highest amount. Because the donator with the highest amount already gets the additional rewards from the "creat a pirate party" tier. If there are multiple donators who come close to having donated the second highest amount then they can share the rewards if they can reach a peaceful agreement on who gets what. What if we fail to raise $5750? Then I buy additional copies of the game from our surplus money and put them into a lottery for our donators. What if we reach more than $5750? Then that surplus of money will be used to buy additional copies for a lottery. NOW, let the ideas spread and your mind spin of what awesome item we could give to our pirate group!!!

Yes! I couldn't believe my own eyes when I logged in to check the donations today. It said $5334.26 Holy Cow! We had two VERY generous donations, one of which was our $333 guy who donated yet another such batch of money to our cause. A huge thank you to to the both of you, and a huge thank you to everyone! We made it! WE ARE FUNDED!!! WHOOOHOOOOOO!

Oh boy. A transgender character who wasn't "properly" included into a game "the right way". Yeah, anyone heard of Beamdog's Siege of Dragonspear? Really, been there, done that. It's all Mizhena again. [sarcasm] lbgtq characters need to be implemented the "right way". In fantasy games and science fiction games they need to behave like in reality. And fantasy and science fiction societies have to react to them the same way they do in reality. There cannot be just a transgender character. Just like that. NO. A transgender character can only exist when they have a special, thoughtful implementation and purpose. Transgenders do not exist just like that. Like you know, real people. No no no, they need to be treated in a "special way"... [/sarcasm] yeah... I guess the hate will thrive and explode for a month or two and then eventually everything will settle down. Same what happened on the Beamdog forums. It's all over Mizhena again.

Our deadline is there to get the BIB funded. If they get funded by the deadline then of course we can continue to collect money for add ons for example. Personally I am not sure why people would hold off so that they can donate from the 21st to the 26th, but not before. Maybe in some countries the pay checks come in that time?

Yeah that was the original intend. And if people had wanted to collect money on a lower tier we would have had some time still. But I am pretty positive now, that we are going to make it.

I think there is a bit of a misunderstanding here. The funds with which we pay the Black Isle Bastards do count of course for the post-fig Pillars of Eternity 2 campaign. The $5000 will add to that campaign of course. That's why I said than you could chip in now. There is no reason to wait. And by donating here right now, you support both projects at once. You support the Black Isle Bastards AND the post-fig campaign.

I am not sure I understand this. Why exactly should the BIB PayPal be left open until the end of the post-fig campaign? You could "chip in" now, couldn't you?

Ha, thanks for the offer, but no, that would feel wrong to me. Donations to this cause should be used for this cause We can't give it to the "kitty" because that is the problem. There is currently no way to give Obsidian any money for free. Which, given that we still would like to reach some stretch goals, is not so ideal, really. That is up to Obsidian Feel free to hand in ideas any time, and when many people like them I can submit them to Obsidian. But the general idea is that the design of the BIB is up to Obsidian. In other words, we don't know yet... Edit: Oh yeah, the poll results will be handed in to Obsidian as well of course. But Obsidian is not bound to them.

Have a look at the last two pages of this thread. Also: Hi guys! We are continually improving the Backer Portal, I don't believe we'll have a "pledge what you want" tier, but we may have something that will be to that effect. And since then there was no official mention of a "pledge what you want" option.

There is one last issue I would ask everyone to think about. Originally I said when we get more than $5000 I would donate any surplus money to Obsidian as a "free donation". Now, there is a problem because there is not going to be such an option. So how do we make sure we stop exactly at $5000? And what do we do if we pass that? What if we end up with $5050? Or $5250? The next interesting tier would be at $5750 and I rather doubt that we will make it that far. So what do we do with the surplus money if we get more than $5000 but less than $5750? I have two ideas myself: 1.) I will close the funding of the BIB at $4900 and donate the missing $100 myself to make sure we get exactly $5000. 2.) Another idea is that I buy additional Add-Ons from the surplus money and we give them away in a lottery among all our donators (except myself because I would handle the lottery).
