  1. Can I just say that I hope the stronghold will be even more ruined for release? I wanna build it up a LOT. Of course, I guess this corner is hardly the entire thing, so there's that.
  2. With every other use of my card, i am redirected to a website where i authenticate with my card and a code dongle thingy. Amazon has never supported this, and ive always felt iffy about it. Assuming thats the issue here.
  3. So yeah. Apparently according to kickstarter my card is expired, locked, or blah blah blah. Theres nothing wrong with my card. Nothing! Ive tried repaying and it doesnt work. Im assuming my card issuer has finally clamped down on amazons insecure payment system, with no verification whatsoever. In any case, i cant pay my pledge, apparently. So i guess this means you're out $160, and im out my CE version of the game. Of course this happens just as i am at work at sea, where i will be stuck for at least a month. How long do i have to handle this, if at all possible?
  4. Nah, I've already gone for the option I like the most, and really the most I can justify and afford. So that's that.
  5. I haven't played them, I just want a high-quality, engrossing, massive (in terms of story and quality of characters) RPG, and I'm pretty sure Obsidian can deliver. Especially when they're not being subjected to the whip of a bunch of arbitrary sadists (aka publishers). The Kickstarter mentioning the possibility of franchising, and keeping our character from game to game, just gives me shivers. That's the kind of stupidly big game (..set of games) I really want to play.
  6. Well, what I mean is that when games can include it without having a truckload of curmudgeons waving it off as fapping material, the medium has finally matured. No, I didn't mean that it's mandatory when I said I think it belongs. That just means I think it belongs. It wouldn't be out of place. It would improve the game, and no one would be forcing you people to play that bit. I changed your post for humor and realized it was no less ridiculous than your original statement. Huh. I'm going to avoid participating in this discussion, considering the kind of tone you use against people you disagree with. No wonder no one's brought out more of these games, if this is what the fan base is like!
  7. Voicework isn't a bad thing in itself, but I don't see how they could possibly have voiced NPCs and actually create the kind of game they want to. When the biggest, most funded titles in the industry are still restricted by it, how would it work here? I'd rather have text-only dialogue, and more of it, than voiced NPCs. Even if that means sacrificing all voiceovers.
  8. Sometimes I feel an immersion between my legs too. I tend to deal with it in a way more healthy than watching pixels in RPG. Yeah, because people want romance in their games because they **** to them. Makes sense, that's real mature there. Glad you're capable of having a mature discussion with people you disagree with. I think romance belongs in a modern RPG. It adds depth, allows some characters to be something more, and perhaps as a side-note is a sign of this medium maturing. I can't imagine this kind of argument went on when movies were still maturing. Oh, no, you can't have romance between the characters, that's just silly material for kids to **** to! Don't you recognize how silly your argument is?
  9. Agreed on the last point. I don't want it to be a part of the main plot because this is one of those things where you.. you know when you play a game for the umpteenth time and you decide to ignore the storyline completely? You know those few games that actually let you do that and live another life, actually play a character? I love that! That's what I'm trying to say I want.
  10. I know this is going to sound really Elder Scrolls-y.. but I'm envisioning something way better than what they tend to have. At least nowadays. I want to be able to join factions that are a plausible part of the game world, with their own story lines and progression that have no connection to the main quest. Mercenary companies, assassins, merchants' guilds, religious sects. The works. Since you guys are not restricted by the need for voice work, these factions could actually be as in-depth as we all hope for when we join these factions in other games and are inevitably let down. Often, games will have badass factions that you can't join because you're being railroaded through the story, or because of development resources. I just had a wave of awesome wash over me as I imagined Project Eternity being the exception to that, which is why I had to make this post now. :D
  11. If it was a player skill, it would just be a skill everyone would pick anyway. How about this? You can wear unfitted items, but since they don't fit you, their stats are suboptimal. You can optionally have them fitted in town by a specialist for a fee. This would turn it from tedium to a nice gear upgrade tier that makes sense.
  12. What an excellent idea! joffeloff, pencil sharpener of the Obsidian Order.
