All the reviews I've found appear to be from five or six years ago. Perhaps there are othe flat speaker manufacturers around.

Question: As far as I know the 7600GS is exactly the same as a 7600GT except for the lowered core and memory frequencies. Wouldn't that make it very easy (and safe) to overclock the 7600GS to 7600GT performance levels?

I never tried a good headset, so I don't know, but how is it possible to simulate sound coming from the back with what are effectively two speakers?

If possible, try to play it with four speakers. It makes a huge difference. What's your sound card, by the way?

It's just that I think the game is God's gift to gamers. :D Anyway, THIS should help you get System Shock 2 working on your machine. @LadyCrimson: You can skip the cutscenes in NOLF. You just have to press space. I found them quite enjoyable though.

I also remember everyone and their mothers giving Half-Life Game Of The Year awards. What year was that? 1998? Edit: Other games that came out in 1998 Grim Fandango Fallout 2 Caesar III Baldur's Gate Myth I and II Resident Evil 2 Starcraft Rainbow Six Scary? Go play System Shock 2. It's a lot scarier than DOOM 3, even with the huge difference in graphics. Also, if you like FPSs you should try No One Lives Forever.

No, I remember when the first Half-Life came out, everyone was raving about how awesome it was to play an FPS with an actual story, and how that was truly revolutionary. No one had played System Shock, apparently.

Finally. I was beginning to think I was the only person here that didn't like HL2. If what you play games for is the narrative, you might as well get another game now, before your feeling of wasted time grows any further. But isn't Half Life supposed to be good because it's an FPS with an actual story?

I'm still at the beginning, so it could get better. The setting seems interesting, but the narrative so far has been "Run Away! Run Away!"

I guess you have a point. But isn't Half Life 2 supposed to be the new paradigm of FPS games? So far it's Wolfenstein3D with physics.

Half Life 2. It's incredibly boring. I've been going around in this hovercraft bike thingie for ages. Also, as far I can tell, the game has been completely linear so far. It's pretty, though.
