  1. I felt that Katarina was a more 'restricted' type of of character, i.e, heavy damage-dealer at a very long range and with just so-so attacks at short range plus just one (small)AoE spell. That's why I upgraded her Warding Ritual, to protect her against rushers in mid- to late game (those annoying ninjas come to mind), while causing damage on the go. In fact, I found it to be a lifesaver. And dodged A LOT so I could get away from the crowd of enemies and use my deadly rifle. Maybe that's just me but I think the other legionnaires had wider and more powerful AoE moves to vanquish enemies at mid- to short range. Anjali had Pillar of Fire, Aura of Immolation and Fall from the Heavens - nuff said. Reinhart had Geometry of Annihilation (hands down the widest and the most powerful AoE spell). Lucas had Blade Dash, Wind Shear and Earthquake (slightly smaller AoE but hard-hitters). And Kat...just Warding Ritual. So if there's one 2-gun stance ability you should upgrade, that's it.
  2. SPOILERS Each area of the game has a level cap to prevent overleveling in said area. You won
  3. Hm...as far as I know, distance has nothing to do with damage dealt. Maybe because your attack score in the dual-wielding stance is lower than in the Rifle stance?

  5. I think Katarina is the only character that deals waaaaay more damage in one stance than in another...(rifle does much , much more damage than dual guns). The other legionnaires can do roughly the same damage both in single-target and crowd-control stances. Investing more in Ability DPS in the Rifle stance and in Attack DPS in the dual-wielding stance does make sense, since her ability dps in the dual guns is quite limited. Despite having lower output damage she can score criticals more often, which counterbalances it. I had lots of fun with Painful Rebuke on Kat.
  6. Nice post on Reinhart Manx. I went with a more balanced Reinhart though, and it worked very well. By level 25 I had GoA, the healing spell, Barrier Shield and Lightning Strike fully mastered, but I used mostly GoA and the healing spell in their empowered versions - I have the PC version so you know, using empowered spells in the PC is very unwieldy and may be lethal if you fumble with your keys while surrounded by mobs, so I stuck with what was most useful for me. My critical chance wasn
  7. By the way, as far as I know, there are only 2 exceptions in which Ability DPS is augmented during special abilities (and- for those ones specifically- Will is very, very important)------- SPOILERS 1. Ignite (Sets Anjali
  8. Well this topic is getting hot! Now here are my thoughts on damage output (that
  9. Also add more sidequests! DS 3 was so short! I think it had the potential to bring along much more sidequests and add to the lenght of the game. Especially in Stonebridge City. Such a big town and just 2 major quests inside it? For example, you could save citizens from thieves inside their houses, hunt enemies hiding in the city's sewers (reminds me of the Baldur

  11. And also: 1) More customization possibilities for the characters - the 4 playable legionnaires are ok, but they should be given more builds 2) Fix the camera - major complaint of most players! Being hit by projectiles you can
  12. In DS III Anjali is able to set enemies ablaze and Lucas is able to do bleeding damage but honestly, I noted no difference. I killed most enemies in 3-5 strikes (except for bosses)...I don
  13. I guess all four characters can be built either as tanks or glass cannons, with their respective pros and cons. But I think leaning towards one or another also depends on whom you use as your companion. For instance, when I play as Reinhart or Katarina and use Anjali or Lucas as companions, I forego armor and go for attack/will/ agility and let my companion keep the enemy away from me while I unleash my deadly long-range attacks. The same Reinhart, when paired with Katarina, requires more investments on stamina and relied a lot on dodging/barrier shield. I rarely play with a glass cannon Lucas build, mainly because of his lack of ranged attacks. But even with a lower attack power I could pull several devastating attacks out of him...his wrathful might+force of will+devastating criticals plus heroic charge ( fully upgraded with willful charge) and blade dash (upgraded with 50% crit chance) more than compensate for that...
  14. And if you are playing as Reinhart or Lucas, who have insane MP regen via Perpetual Moment/ Unbridled Wrath, you will be relying much less on their regular attacks. But remember special abilities do use the Attack DPS score (Attack DPS + Ability DPS) so don
  15. I guess Reinhart is meant to be played as a glass cannon...most of his best gear give him insane attack and will but not armor. Since his armor is low, I suggest you find him some stamina gear, which is easier to find. He dies easily if surrounded, so if this happens, cast Shield Barrier and dodge out of the way!
  16. At first, I thought AI companions would choose different "favorite" abilities depending on who your main character is. But for Lucas, at least, this is not true. I stuck with him all the way when playing as Anjali, Katarina and Reinhart and his pattern was exacly the same. Does anyone know if AI behavior for the other 3 characters change according to your main character?
  17. I agree. The game menu is very vague when describing chaos effects - and the proficiencies/ talents descriptions as well, which is far worse. Regarding effect duration, it is quite useless in a game where combat is extremely fast-paced and enemies (and your character, if you are not careful) die in five seconds. Why bother about poisoning causing damage over 9 seconds if enemies are already dead by then?
