I recently played through KOTOR1, it worked okay even if sluggish at points. I have the impression that KOTOR2 is more demanding, so how well will the game work on my rig? Specs: Athlon XP 1800+, Geforce3 Ti200, 512MB RAM.

That's funny. I started programming because I thought it might help me get into the game industry, what I actually desired was to be a designer. In time, I discovered programming was interesting by itself. And eventually, I found I wasn't that interested in working on games anymore. Sure, I still think it would be fun, but I can imagine other opportunities. Life's ironic at times.

64x64 is perfect. There's few things more annoying on fora than wading through enormous pictures, signatures and other overly flashy penile extensions.

Very healthy advice. I concur that you need to know what you're getting yourself into; contrary to what some people may think, game development isn't all fun and games. Set goals and make sure to reach them.

I wanted a low member #, omg. Anyway, I wanted to see how this place would turn out. Keep an eye on the new game and the wacky devs. Nostalgia for the old BIS boards. I doubt I'll hang around.

Despite what Bioware's marketing engine and a horde of clueless reviewers wants to make us believe, neither NWN nor KOTOR has turn-based combat. It's pausable real-time.

The bright white for quoted pieces is a bit too... striking, I'd say.
