  1. Jesus. It runs on the Wii for chrissakes. Never come out of your shamehole. Yeah, seriously my Eee PC 1000H can run it smoothly on power saving mode with integrated graphics and a 1.6GHz(running at 1.2 max with the power saving) single core processor. What the hell man?
  2. I wouldn't call it shallow. There are practically no levels where you have to do the exact same thing, the conditions are always different. And if you take the time to read all the plaques you'll get a quirky little story and some pretty good humor. It is just a really fun and innovative game. It is also available on steam.
  3. By controls do you mean getting the gooballs to attach how you want? That was sometimes annoying, yes.
  4. I know this is a horribly packed time for games, but I found this little gem on steam. It is a really interesting, artsy, physics-based puzzle game. At first it looks like all you are building is bridges and towers, but almost all of the levels are unique. Has anyone else played this game?
  5. I believe this picture accurately represents the people who were waiting for a REAL KotOR 3 Also apparently SW:TOR is also coming to consoles linky. Suprise! Get ready for a screechy and sweary public voice chat
  6. Appealing to who though? So far I've only heard from people who do not like the style. Psst, it's the "casual" people, the ones that only play WoW and no other video games.
  7. This is why we can't have nice things! Just look at that face, look at it! So anyway MMOs are not my cup of tea. I had some fun with the Eve Online 14 day trial (that you can redo an infinite number of times ) but WoW is just terrible. I hope they make a ton of money and put it into something good(like a consolitis-free Dragon Age...) EDIT: And wth is up with the HUGE lightsaber hilts? This looks straight out of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back(which was actually good)
  8. Adapt or die, that is how the world is. So if I won't put up with Bethesda's crap they will come and kill me? Crap, gotta go and preorder then...
  9. While my love of SS2 knows no bounds, I always found its intro to fall a bit flat. Yeah, I was hoping this thread would show me some new intro's but do far it's mostly been people reciting their most favourite games. Come on, people, I'm sure noone really thinks Fallout or Neverwinter Nights 2 has the best intro they've ever seen.. Didn't you see my intro, I bet most people haven't even heard of the game.
  10. As good as all the other intros are, this has always stood out for me. Septerra is such an unique world.
  11. Woah, you people are fast. Thanks for the lists. So are there any co-op or otherwise multiplayer games that would take advantage of the second controller? I could have gotten a PS2, but since I'm not really into console gaming I thought that I'd try to get a little more up to date with some RPG series and other forgotten gems. Also it was really cheap...
  12. So I got my hands on a playstation one for cheap. Could you recommend some games for it? I would prefer RPGs, but all genres are welcome. Also I would like to know what the best two-player games are. Thanks
  13. No, I was just curious how you can get past the locked doors of the UNATCO hq if Anna is still alive at that point of the game. I didn't realize you could and I'm interested in knowing what the method was. it is explained with a video. Enjoy!
  14. eh? Psychonauts is a fantastic game. one of the very best non-CRPGs i've played. yes, the game involves jumping and, as with any game that involves jumping, sometimes the jumping is challenging and - when things go rough - a little irritating. but to describe Psychonauts as 'just boring platform jumping' is like describing LOTR as 'a boring book about some hobbits'. The true strength of Psychonauts is its humour and its story. If you don't have a sense of humour, you might dislike this game. You might also dislike it if you have no appreciation for great writing. p.s. the items you're collecting are the furthest thing in the world away from 'pointless' - they're all related in a meaningful way to the story. Bioshock is similarly a great game. Pay no attention to the folk who hate on this game for no decent reason. Assassin's Creed? Stunning graphics and great gameplay that's captivating about 90 minutes. Unfortunately, as someone else already pointed out, every quest is structured identically to the first, so after the first couple of quests, the whole thing becomes supremely repetitive. But worth playing for those first 90 minutes or so. Especially the pretty graphics. Bioshock is only great if you haven't played System Shock 2. If you have, you will see that it is pretty much that, right down to the plot twist, but dumbed down, sorry - streamlined for the console crowd. The art direction and atmosphere are great, but the gameplay is pretty bad and the rpg elements are few and far between. The worst thing about Bioshock is that it could have been so much, but falls flat on its face. Also you might want to check out Yahtzee's review at here. Yeah, he mostly puts everything down, but I think that he pretty much nails it with his review.
  15. I would have to disagree on Assassin's Creed. I found it fun for the first few hours with parkour and killing people, but then the quests became really repetitive and boring. Also the story was crazy at best and I soon found myself glazing over when the assassination target started his hour-long monologue AFTER you had killed him... Dark Messiah was really great. Just kicking things around and finding interesting ways to kill things was great. It also has a pretty good story. Company of Heroes was also great. It has real physics and you can change the battlefield to your advantage - for example you can blow a building apart to get cover and to kill the people inside really fast.
  16. I thought he meant BG as a series. I guess the first one was kinda forced...
  17. Excuse me? Maybe you could define "REAL role-playing" for me?
  18. I saw it on Livewire too. Looks more BGish than NWNish, so I think that it will be pretty good. Hopefully they will release it soon. Also the latest Giant Bomb podcast talks a little about DA Here It sarts at about 47:00
  19. Okay, let me rephrase myself: I think that BG(along with it's FR setting) is not generic LotR-type RPG. There, take that!
  20. I doesn't look like a spiritual successor to BG because it look like generic lets-do-it-like-LotR fantasy and not unique like BG. Well the Forgotten Realms are at least more unique than the usual beaten-to-death Tolkin fantasy. But we will see, the important parts are the story and characters
  21. I want to like Dragon Age, I really do, but based on this teaser I can't really say that I do. First they add the stupid Origins subtitle and now they release a as-generic-as-they-come teaser. The lightning looks weird at best and the graphics look plastic-y. I am by no means a graphics whore, but for the love of god - lay off the motion blur and ten other filters. Alas, I will reserve my opinion till I see some gameplay footage, but judging by this, it is a far cry from the "spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate". Edit: and what is up with the voice?
  22. Somehow I didn't think that SpikeTV watchers would be their target audience... Going the Bethesda route, I see
  23. *puts the 12th pitchfork down, starts sharpening BG2 discs* ...any minute now...
  24. *sounds of pitchfork sharpening* ...not long now...
