Never got a chance to read any of CGW or GFW because of geographical incompatibilities. I got to listen to them on the CGW/GFW radio and they were awesome. Those were the . Also remember the whiskey nerd and the . These have explicit lyrics btw.

Like there's anything constructive to say about this subject. I watched some of these 1Up previews, and how the guys there tried so hard to talk like professionals... it was so pathetic. Seriously, nobody is gonna miss those pompous "journalists". But then again, people around here already know my general opinion about game journalism. Specifically US game journalism. Did you listen to any of their podcasts?( GFW radio in particular)

Haven't you already filled the troll quota for this week? j/k I love you Morgoth, you grumpy teddy bear.

Then maybe you can care for the 30+ people who lost their jobs and have to find new ones in today's economic climate?

As most of you (hopefully) know by now, 1up was bought by UGO/Hearst and most of the staff was laid off. Also, the popular gaming magazine Electronic Gaming Monthly was closed with the January issue being the last one. Link 1UP will stay up for the time being, but at least some of the podcasts have been cancelled and the rest will probably never be the same(with most of the staff gone). The former crew of the weekly 1UP FM podcast has got together on eat-sleep-game and has already started a new podcast called Rebel FM, which you can find on itunes or at the site. The 1UP Show crew has also put up a website Talking orange. If you want to keep up with the ex-1UP people check out this blogpost with their twitter names and farewell posts. Thanks for the attention Edit: here is the RSS feed to Rebel FM, if you need it: http://rebelfm.libsyn.com/rss

It probably has at least some similarities to it, since they are part of the same series. This is pretty much my first Tribes, so I can't tell for sure. I just played a good 1.5h and it was great. There's so much stuff in there, multiple classes, weapons, vehicles and buildings you can set up. The maps are huge and it was fun seeing everyone understand how everything worked. I think that everyone should at least try it out. It is a bit like Battlefield 2, but with jetpacks and other crazy stuff.

Hello, Remember Tribes 2, the awesome multiplayer FPS with big, open maps? Well guess what, it is back(again) after Vivendi shut the servers down on November 3rd. The best thing is that you can get the game for free, no strings attached. Some nice folks have modded the game to run on custom servers and if they can get some players, we can revive this classic. Get the FULL version and the patch here Viva la renaissance! Edit: To clarify on the free part:

Thanks I though about putting it into C&C forums, but though that OT might be more appropriate. If the sale is not over yet, it will be SOON, so get your last stuff.

I hope you'll like it! Also suprise: Counter Strike community is exactly as portrayed on the internet

I'm quoting a post from the Neogaf forums So yay PC gaming, I guess. And remember that the sale ends on the 2. January, so you still have time!

Don't tempt him... The only games I have replayed right after playing them were Half-Life 2 Episode 1/2 and Portal to hear the commentary.

Price of Persia review here. Last week's crap REDEEMED! Edit: Yay Planescape Torment referance. A terrific review to end the year!

Poopsocking - look it up.

It's almost like you people are from another planet or something. What happened to just playing games normally and enjoying them? The last game that I played more than I should have was Septerra Core and I played it like 8 hours a day for a week. I was like 10 back then...

I guess the joke's on you, because it was Mass Effect Yeah dude, get some sleep. That stuff is not good for you.

Hey, that's a really good idea, lets talk about our favorite DOS games. Everyone keeps talking about old NES and SNES games but those awesome DOS games get no love. One game that has a special place in my heart is Blood and Magic. It was a D&D license strategy game with stats, it was one of my first games on the PC and a whole load of fun. Then there are classic games that have been released as freeware: Jetpack and Tyrian 2000. Some of the best FPSs came out as DOS games: Wolfenstein 3d, Doom I/II, Blood, Rise of The Triad, Heretic, Duke Nukem 3d. Fun times... Oh and let's not forget Star Control II, which has been re-released as freeware as "The Ur-Quan Masters".

Hello, I am playing a bunch of old games on my Asus Eee PC 1000H as well. I am assuming that you are using Dosbox as the DOS emulator? If so, thry these hotkeys here. Try CTRL-F11 to slow down the emulation and see if that works. I had the same problem with X-COM, but I don't think CTRL - F11 was enough to make it playable, though. Yeah, it's awesome, I'm getting a new 320GB hard drive for it, because I have filled the 80GB one up with games and have no room for movies

I really like the Shadowrun setting. The new 4th edition PnP is really good and fun. (Then again I also liked D&D up to 3.5ed). I like how the multinational corporations rule the world in a delicate balance, how magic and technology co-exist and how deadly it feels. Sure, there is some really weird stuff there as well, but you could do a lot worse with a PnP rpg setting.

I hope they have their plate full with sequels they are slaving away at for their new Corporate overlords. Also would Microsoft really risk another failure with a franchise that bombed so horribly?
-
Is it just me or are the sound effects(punches etc.) in the trailer way out of sync? Also the faces look pretty bad. Otherwise looks pretty cool. Also props to the genius who though it would be a good idea to compress the trailer into a zip.
-
Agreed on a Shadowrun RPG. I've always thought that would be a great setting for an Obsidian game. And after the abomination that the last Shadowrun game was, the license should come dirty cheap...

*Que JE Sawyer coming here and telling us that it will be super tight...

Yeah, it was me, my fancies got the best of me and I am sorry. So where were we? Back to the isometric turn-based steampunk Star Wars racer, I guess....

Woah, awesome, didn't know about that. They better not screw up the PC port this time, though... EDIT: Looking around, it looks like a PS3 exclusive. Respect the PC, damn it!
