  1. Pretty much. You can compare the reality to your speculative fantasies, but that's about it. Also, if that was the reality, why wouldn't you argue that that one is the correct one? Obviously you wouldn't be the person you are, assuming someone with your genetic makeup existed at all.
  2. They also got their water from lead pipes... That probably helped with the entertainment.
  3. Haven't you guys seen Gladiator? It looked pretty evil to me.
  4. I guess you super secret unlockable weapon will the guillotine.
  5. Call it Halo: Mass Effect: Post-Modern Warfare and it will be the bestest selling game EVER.
  6. I don't consider it pants-on-head crazy, but I tend to read a great deal of space opera. The last story I read featured an assassin who killed a man via an elaborate plot to lure him to a space shuttle and destabilize his molecules, and then she altered the universe's collective memory so everyone believed he'd been in a boating accident. I thought, "If you can alter the universe's collective memory, why not just walk up to him in public and shoot him?" There better be a tv trope for that.
  7. Yes, you most certainly did. You wrote those letters and clicked "add reply". A champion is you!
  8. With that much to do, how do you find the time to talk to the invisible man in the sky?
  9. They were extremely evil too, obviously.
  10. We do what we can with what's available.
  11. What does that even mean? The nazis could've won, the Cuban missile crisis could've easily turned into a nuclear exchange, etc. What happened happened because it happened, we don't have anything to compare it to. Saying that it was meant to happen that way is meaningless.
  12. I'm sure you'll get better over time. No one starts off with a black belt in picture-fu.
  13. What does that even mean?
  14. And the ensuing scrotal cancer would add the much-needed realism to the setting. Awesome!
  15. Only in the multiplayer mode, so you could say it adopted some MMORPG elements All of which has nothing at all to do with Deus Ex. Ah good point, so it really isn't an RPG then. Oh wait, you are the one who claimed it was. Here is something to make you feel better: I was mocking your previous argument. Nice trap, though. I admit my defeat, you can have all my internets.

  17. Man, sports games are weird. Too bad I don't care about sports, at all.
  18. In Modern Warfare 2 I get to take on the role of a bunch of soldiers in a bad Tom Clancy Novel and do things I can't do in real life. Modern Warfare 2 = RPG confirmed!
  19. I get your point. I was just annoyed with the endless comparisons to other undefined things. If you have an argument, just say it, which you did, so good job. People did a whole bunch of good and bad stuff in the name of religion, you're saying that they would have still done it anyway without religion. That would make religion completely irrelevant, removing it from both the good and bad things done in it's name. So it's just window dressing?
  20. No story? WTF, winning championships, getting the heisman trophy, making it to the hall of fame, making the playoff, getting drafted first pick, turning around a laughable franchise. YOU are the character, and so is the opposition. It does help if you are a sports fanatic, but there is much RPG game developers could learn from sports games. F dragon age. Next you're going to tell me walking down the street is also an awesome roleplaying experience.
  21. Why so patronizing? So basically you're not saying anything. How good or evil is this human nature of yours?
  22. And no story or characters, it's win-win all around. Did you miss Dragon Age?
  23. The only "sports RPG" worth anything is Barkley, Shut Up & Jam: Gaiden.
  24. You could jump into horrible refuse piles or super soft cotton piles from the cotton factory that uses child labor.
  25. Wow guys, good job turning this into a religion vs atheism debate! We all know how those end up. Carry on.
