Nah, you cant support people and pay for social services unless you have money So you must always be concerned about money and who pays and how much
-
You know you cant nationalize banks Gorthfuscious because banks as listed companies are " owned " by share holders and what share holder would ever agree to losing there investment and then their is the reality of all the global financial regulations the banks align to and they not public entities, if there was ever a badly identified target for the historically flawed objective of nationalization then wanting to nationalize banks is it...in fact its the worst possible target in any economy. Rather go after the mining or agricultural sector It will be quickest way to crash your economy than any other as if the financial markets collapse your entire economy gets dragged down with it

Sorry Zora but NZ is not considered a corrupt country by any reasonable measurement and I hope you not suggesting that ? We both know typical NS corruption is your normal " man arrested after being found with fake sheep marriage license....marriage to beloved pet was annulled " Thats not the corruption we talking about

Could you really charge Giuliani for RICO? I well aware of RICO and I think it was a piece of genius legislation and you can understand how it has bought down many different established mobs but it will be tough to prove the direct connection in the sense to quote from RICO " allows the leaders of a syndicate to be tried for the crimes they ordered others to do or assisted them in doing, closing a perceived loophole that allowed a person who instructed someone else to, for example, murder, to be exempt from the trial because they did not actually commit the crime personally " Giuliani could easily argue he was using metaphors and never instructed anyone personally to commit a crime ?

Amentep isnt that interesting , you and I have the exact same reality where we live except I have no regulations or rules that people follow in the lift It shows again how much random strangers can have in common...thats probably why we agree on so many things
-
Yes this is exactly my reality, I live in a flat apartment and from the underground parking there is basically only a lift to my floor I normally use stairs and its good exercise but sometimes I have no choice to use the lift

Gromnir here is a good question, what do you think the primary instigators will be charged with and what do you personally think they should be charged with I have several questions around the legal process that include Will they be charged in a Federal court What would you charge people with, for example they were saying on CNN things like public violence and damage to property Finally what is a fitting sentence, how long do you think the jail sentences should be or rather what is typical sentence for these types of crimes Personally I think you need to set an example and throw the book at them and for those directly involved in the violence. I think the time has come in the USA to start coming down hard on anyone who is part of mob violence and anarchy and this should apply to anyone involved in violence and lawlessness generally during protests But I think you need to use reasonableness, I think the Capitol violence has been worse than most BLM and Antifa violence overall for various reasons so we need to separate things and how the law is applied I am not saying we give BLM or Antifa violence a pass, I am saying it is similar but also different especially around where the Capitol attacks occurred and what was the objective for some.
-
That is correct, you dont want to give certain developments agency by reading too much into what was their real motivation We all know there was blatant criminal behavior by some in the violent mob, I have seen some really bad stories on CNN by some of the Capitol cops and they were really abused and attacked But we musnt call it something its not, I like the violent mob definition personally ? '

There have been several arrests...all the well filmed instigators have basically been arrested. This includes Camp Auschwitz guy : my most deplorable person The cosplay guy with the horns : he said he did because that is what Trump wanted them to do to save the Democracy The guy with the Confederate flag A 52 old ex-Airforce colonel ( or similar rank or unit ) who was turned in by his ex-wife who recognized him on the TV And countless others who were visible in the media So I want to commend the various US security forces involved for addressing this quickly and effectively. That is why I dont think there will be serious violence on the 20

Im sorry but despite what they say the "new " coke flavor doesnt taste like the old coke I know they had to reduce the sugar, due to the health concerns, so the new taste isnt as nice and quite as refreshing, I am drinking Coke now and its enjoyable but not like the coke of the old days. No Coke global marketing will convince me the taste is the same...its not
-
I agree , but words like "sedition" , " coup " and " violent insurrection " are commonly used in the media so Im just copying them because we all know they refer to the Capitol violence
-
Yes the risk seems to be in state capitals and people protesting on the day throughout the states I will be surprised if we see the same levels of violence because the US security forces have been clamping down hard since the violence at the Capitol and anyone even hinting at violence I am confident will be arrested
-
Gromnir I have to add GD is definitely not opposed to the idea of Democracy, he criticizes aspects of the Democratic system and its application. But that is not the same as being opposed to it. And his views have been more or less consistent, like all of us, as long as I have debated with him which is over 10 years
-
Do you guys know there are going be over 20k national guard and security forces deployed for the inauguration of Biden I really doubt there will be any violence and people involved in acts of sedition like we saw

Looks like your aspirations and dreams for government could be coming true....free education and free housing and free this and free that and no one has to pay but ...government And the best part about it is you didnt even have to vote to achieve this !!!
-
But I thought you said the Democrats were the same as the Republicans and they were both useless and couldn't be trusted? Do you like the Democrats now?
-
There is an horrendous cost for the USA around these plans and that should raise some concerns and be considered ...I dont mean to rain on the parade Im just saying
-
Oh so that is how people join the alt right.....I always use to wonder, thanks for sharing Can I ask you an honest question, have you got experience in stand-up comedy or any skills around comedy generally. Because you make me laugh sometimes and its like you trained in humor ? Keep it up by the way, please dont change

Oh Im no expert, I have some knowledge and work experience but its limited But I have family members who do this every day for a living around investment banking and other financial work so what I normally do is discuss these types of complex topics with them and get their feedback. But end of the day somethings cannot be predicted with accuracy ...especially the long term economic impact of BREXIT on the UK and the EU I will go through this and get their opinion on what it practically means
-
Yes I dont disagree. Also global investment banks, outside the EU and UK, may now decide to have there new HQ in the EU and not the UK But I tell you where I believe the UK is going to be hurt economically. Lets say Toyota wanted to invest in a new production factory to make cars, in the past when the UK was part of the EU they could have easily created that plant in the UK as they like the UK ease of doing business and access to Europe But now for Toyota is better to setup the production factory in the EU and not the UK because of tariffs and the failure of having easy access to the EU powerful single market. In other words many companies will ask themselves " where is my biggest customer base " and in most cases that will be the EU and not the UK
-
Yes but all banks and financial institutions dont need to be part of trading blocks like EU to operate in the global financial markets. There are global financial regulations and rules that dictate this. So I am not sure what you mean by the UK banks are now isolated? Being part of the EU for the UK as far as the banks is concerned was primarily about where people live and where they can legally work. Banks in the UK will still continue to operate in all financial markets they use to operate in before BREXIT, more or less, in the same way
-
Let me ask you a different question, what exactly should the EU have done around BREXIT that would show you it wasnt " weak " Do you think a no-deal would be better for the EU and the UK ?
-
This concerns me but I suppose anyone is allowed to contribute towards a fund that is created " to help BLM people unfairly arrested " ....the problem with this fund is when its used to help people who are criminals or committed criminal acts like the Antifa violence because then the reason you may have contributed towards the fund is not the reason you thought I doubt the new VP was aware the fund would be misused like this if the article is correct ?
-
Okay, we are all entitled to our opinions. I dont see the EU as weak because there were compromises that had to made considering the complexity of BREXIT
-
No, no my friend lets not blame the EU for the UK making the wrong, IMO, and difficult decision to leave the EU. My English family initially voted no to BREXIT but those days are over and we all need to support the UK leaving the EU They had to find some compromise around the actual BREXIT outstanding economic and political impasses like the Irish border, the UK fishing concerns and what happens with the delivery of goods using trucks at places like Dover. So the EU didnt give favorable terms to the UK, they compromised on several complicated realities that if you leave the EU what about "issue y or x " I hope I am wrong but initially the UK is going to go through some tough economic times while renegotiating numerous global trade deals. So what I am saying is " you should be thankful you part of the EU because access to the single market has made the EU the worlds most successful trading block " ...lets celebrate that by going out and getting drunk ...post pandemic of course
