  1. They will still do everything they can/are allowed to do. Be that MMO's, AAA Games, Mid-Range That was easy. .
  2. Apparently Obsidian is responsible for *westernization* and some content design
  3. They're the developer. This is their other big game announcement.
  4. EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH You would have to define that value here. Because there are multiple things of value already here for Obsidian just by them making this game. I'm just going to assume you mean design wise. Then yes.
  5. I can assure you. Nope. So far mainly personal reasons. And nobody that would have to leave because of this game. As for projects. Pillars of Eternity Second Kickstarter Planning Armored Warfare Skyforge Unannounced Game (Could turn out to be DLC for Stick of Truth or something bigger) Multiple Avellone/Feargus Pitches (No idea at which state)
  6. ? Nobody had to go. What are you talking about? If you're talking about the march layoffs in 2012 that happened before this.
  7. There probably are, but if anything they more or less just started. Also you can see it this way, the reason Pillars can have as many specialized Obsidian rpg devs is because there is no other project that would gravly need them. Also, you'd be surprised how many Obs and ex-Obs devs actually worked on MMO's.
  8. We welcome Liam Esler as a designer and writer. Liam also works for Beamdog on the BGII: EE. Also Admin of Spellhold Studios.
  9. According to the website this seems to lay emphasis on the PVE part as well as pre-battle preparation. At least from what I gather.
  10. Oh come on, did you watch that trailer with your eyes and ears closed? You know: if it looks like a cat, walks like a cat, meows like a cat, ****s like a cat... Also, in the 95% me-too MMO industry, it's only news when a game is NOT a clone. If Armored Warfare had ANYTHING that sets it apart from the "family", they would be busy touting that feature as "innovative!", even in the first trailer. I've seen MMOs come and go for about 2 decades, trust me on this. Yes, let me too judge games completly from their first trailer which is about ACTION. Granted it may as well turn out this way, but there is reaction and there is overreaction. That worked out so well so far.
  11. To work on MMO's This isn't a new idea for Obsidian. As I said before F2P/MMO already came up in 2010.
  12. Might as well http://sf.my.com/
  13. There's NOTHING from MMO's you WANT to put in regular RPG's. If you do, you murder your own product. I guess there's still the income, true. In MMO's. Learning the trade.
  14. Have to say though, got Cryengine and modernish setting right (even if I expected it to be set a bit further back in time). For the rest, well Tanks MMO was not expected.....
  15. Wait what? They didn't even say its a 1:1 WOT clone. So, unless the previews are out let us take a step back.
  16. The tanks game was before Skyforge from what I can tell actually.
  17. Not the word I'd use. To the thread: It's unexpected as hell, but might be good to wait for some info though.
  18. http://aw.my.com/
  19. UE4's is 5% even for indies.
  20. Cryengine is even cheaper
  21. Means he spent $5000+ on the game. So, the concerns may lay deeper here.
  22. What's in the pic? Can't seem to be able to view it with a phone? Just Obsidian's GDC booth.

  24. Yes... Let's just bring this out in the open. I'm a backer, and I have no interest in this crap right here! < Another "Paradox" game... Download / Client Manager is required, including for gameplay User account creation is required Warranties waived (excluding physical merchantability warranties) Cover waived against any unforeseeable damages, disruptions of service Users must accept ALL changes to the Policy before playing the game. Difficult to read, understand and is inconsistently worded Drafted to only abide by the laws of Sweden1 Users not visibly notified of any changes made to the EULA / TOS Can’t review and query changes made to the EULA / TOS License to play the game only provided No refunds or exchanges for purchased games Circumvention of Steam DRM prohibited Not permitted to create “mods” Monitoring services / software are required to play Leviathan: Warship Warranties waivered (excluding physical merchantability warranties Class Action Waiver Cover waivered against any unforeseeable damages, disruptions of service Termination process dictated by Paradox Interactive Arbitration process isn’t freely-provided and is overseen by Paradox Interactive2 Note that 1 & 2 are just about a contridiction... Governed by the laws of Sweden & binding arbitration? I did not sign up and back this project for more publisher bullsh*t! If this is the way it's going to go Obsidian, you can take my signed copy right out behind the studio and toss it in the dumpster. I am GDS&T of publishers and their... crap. I have to deal with the atrocities of licensed commercial software all day long at work. I will not come home and deal with product activation and always-on bs and giving me crap about making mods. Seriously... I won't be back to kickstart anything you do, ever again. Don't make go pull Southpark off my wishlist. And all of that has nothing to do with Pillars of Eternity. (As it currently stands) Great.
