  1.

Dunno, standard price for AAA *PC* titles here has been 50euros (or the pre-euro equivalent) for as long back as I can remember (which would be dating back to the Tomb Raider/Dungeon Keeper times, which were 2000BF at launch, which is ~50euro). Console games have always been more expensive, for some unfathomable reason*

I checked Amazon and the PC version is up for 50€ on pre-order. Big AAA game tend to be 60€ on Steam.. is that where you're getting that price from?

  2. Pillars of Eternity: White March - I want less dungeoneering, not more, so kind of cold on this. Er, no pun intended.

People keep saying this, but what they've shown of the expansion was very specifically *not* dungeon crawling and they're adding new companions. I guess the trailer convinced everyone it's just a new dungeon?

  3. I would say it's a really bad thing if the game director doesn't know his game. :>

Eh, I know it's just a cheap jab, but in a game like Skyrim or Fallout 3 it's pretty understandable. Way too much content to take a top-heavy approach. I'd be pretty surprised to learn that Josh Sawyer was familiar with *all* the content of Fallout: New Vegas prior to release, including the smallest areas and log entries.

  4. The only thing I really like so far is that power armor finally looks like power armor. It's huge and bulky and you seem to feel it. Not this paper knight armor like in Fo3. Though, I am worried that it will be nothing but a timed super power, going by the gameplay video, where the player first puts in some kind of energy source before it opens and can be used.

I genuinely don't mind this. It's a way of making power armor feel like it should based on the fiction while also balancing gameplay, and depending on how it's implemented it could be very fun. Short moments that make you feel like you're really awesome interrupted by a power failing? That sounds like something that dovetails nicely into the setting to me.

  5. As a matter of fact, yeah, those videos came from later in the day, when Shenmue 3 had already been safely funded on Kickstarter. No reason they couldn't announce that they'd provide extra funds on the stage, instead of waiting for some late interviews that a lot of fans are going to miss.

  6. The fact that Sony is financing this but they didn't disclose it until after it was funded leaves a really, really bad taste in my mouth. Sure, one could guess that due to its presence at E3, but even then, bleh.

Still, I'm glad that Shenmue fans are finally getting a third one. Maybe I'll get it when it's low in price to see what all the hubhub was about.

  7. so, is obsidian s'posed to be announcing anything at e3, or is they gonna wait for e3 hoopla to die down before sharing new info?

    HA! Good Fun!

The card game Kickstarter claimed Obsidian would be announcing some PoE stuff on the 17th, and that they won't be able to announce their new stretch goal until then. My guess is they'll show the expansion on the PC E3 presser, but maybe they'll just show PoE-themed Armored Warfare tank skins, who knows.

  8. Hope that the inventory and everything else is not controlled through the pipboy again, most idiotic, illogical and unintuitive control scheme i've ever seen.

I guess you didn't watch the footage...

  9. Wonder when they will announce that Fallout 4 will support paid mods. tongue.png

It felt like there was a part of the showcase that was devoted to that but had to be axed/repurposed. Decent conference, overall, though it's mostly due to Fallout 4's overwhelmingly positive response.

I'm personally more excited for Dishonored 2, though. Curious to know how Emily will play, and how different she'll be from Corvo.
