  1. @Torm51let me ask you, since you looks like a crusader fan.

I always used to play as main tank , but in Deadfire I didn’t this yet, because I saw some people telling that is boring.

I am planning a custom group run, and still hadn’t decided what I will choose. My question about the crusader is: is he capable to do damage, help the group in another way or he is just a wall? I would appreciate any advices to build one tank but with some utilities tongue group

Goldpact Knight paladins do dislike aggressive actions; that being said, while Magran does favor aggressive actions, you could instead choose to maximize your Clever disposition, along with stoic and rational, and avoid aggressive actions. Priests don't suffer quite as much from not maxing both of their dispositions as paladins do, I think.

Magran Templar only allows Bleak Walker or Steel Garrote. The Unbroken would be my choice anyway.

  3. Hi everyone, I need help.

I know this is something I have to decide on my own, but I just can’t do this 😂

I like to go solo, but at the same time I always end up trying another classes and restart over and over and never progress through the game.
I am considering do a POTD party run, but with a custom party. Will I miss much content not using the companions?

And I need help to fulfill the group. This is what I am thinking:

The main character has to be THE MAIN. I want someone able to tank and deal some damage. The rest of the party I am planning this:

Goldpact/Eothas (a classical paladin), or Unbroken/Troubador - Tank and support

Arcane Archer/Lifegiver - damage and support

    Berserker/Fury (or Bloodmage) ranged dps

Trickster/Beguiler - melee dps with some survivability and debuffs.

Do you think is good enough? And suggestions for the main character please?

  4. Hello, after all I always come back to my ranger. Now I can’t decide between : Wildrhymer (Skald), Beastmaster (Lifegiver), Itinerant (not sure what priest yet) and Geomancer (BM).

I also likes Shepherd, Hunter and Scout, but I miss more utility in those classes.

Edit: the ranger class would be stalker or GH. Maybe AA/BM could be fun?

    Speaking of Ranger + AoE:

Am playing an Arcane Archer/Troubadour as hireling atm and I love her. Plenty of AoE - and the synergy between Sure-Handed Ila (which applies both its recovery and reload bonuses to reloading weapons) and weapons such as Spearcaster (+modal = great) or the Red Hand is great.

But then... anybody tried Imbue:Web + Imbue:Eora with high INT, Driving Flight and Waterhaper's Focus and combined it with being energized (Their Champion)? If you shoot from stealth you'll apply 6 pulsing AoEs (6 webs + 6 pulls) with insane accuracy in a heartbeat. And all pulses will interrupt enemies if they crit. At the same time they can't move and get pulled together. It's just not fair. ;)

Also, with high Arcana very useful against hard to hit enemies because Imbue Shots get Arcana as accuracy bonus - and Spearcaster does that, too. I just leave the modal on . With SH Ila I'm still fast enough to prone-lock those enemies.

That’s great, but I am trying solo and think would be hard to make this work.

The illusionist streetfighter is working good so far. Chillfog, Arkemyr Dazzing Lights and Blunderbuss are doing a good job.

  6. Hello there

I played with all variations of ranger, it’s my favorite class by far, but I wanted somenthing more versatile, and returned to the spellblade.
Why not go trickster? One of the things that I miss on rangers and rogues are good aoe attacks, and the mage can provide this, along another advantages. And my favorite rogue class is the SF, I love how he can get fast and strong. And the Illusionist is because the idea is to be an untouchable killer, high deflection. I know that I will miss good spells, but I’m ok with that.

I can mix spells, ranged attacks with Blunderbuss modal in one hand e pistol in another, and melee.

I think it would be viable solo. You'd probably want to go with bloodmage/beguiler, focusing on debuffs  and self-buffs on the cipher side, along with disintegration, which would be very useful with bosses. You'd lack the summons on the chanter side, but could make up for it by charming and dominating instead. You'd probably want to follow the relatively tanky Blood mage solo build  that Not So Clever Hound shared last year, The Bleeding Arcanist.

Thanks, I will read this guide.

And my idea was exactly this, use the cipher to control and debuffs, and blast with the wizard spells

Bloodmage/Stalker (Bear companion) was a great solo run for me.

Besides the usual benefits of wizards I used the Willbreaker + modal to lower Fortitude for spells and Takedown Combo. The auto will reduction of Willbreaker worked beautifully for my Essential Phantom who used Draining Touch (which targets will instead of deflection).

Saru Sichr is good against non-poison immune tough enemies. Its DoT stacks like Bleeding Cuts - but it has no PEN issues since it's not based on the weapon damage you score. The DoT ticks slowly but with enough stacks foes will melt.

Beast's Claw is great in combination with Wizard spells in general.

I used Gloves of Greater Reliability + Make them Flinch (enchantment on Willbreaker). I think miss to graze conversion is very, very underrated by most players. Especially because Body Blows and other on-hit effects already work with grazes.

It lets you graze enemies with stellar deflection often which you otherwise would miss all the time.

I forgot about the wizards, because I think would be a bit similar to the Druid ( in terms of gameplay) , but it’s a good idea too

Furyshaper/Stalker is a bad idea, the totems counts as pet, and you'll have Bonded Grief due to them.

Furyshaper goes well with Ghost Heart.

I'm currently playing an Island Aumaua Berserker+Stalker, its your classis animalistic tribal warrior with a bear, I like this build.

But are you going solo? I like the idea but solo with a berserker is too hard for me yet

  10. Hello guys, I played a bit more with various classes, and concluded that I like the Ranger. Now I want new ideas to start a new solo try.

    I already used Stalker/Skald and Stalker/Lifegiver.

Now I want to try these combinations

Furyshaper/Stalker (don’t know how would be the survivability with this one)

Trickster/Stalker or GH (maybe mix ranged and melee)

    Soulblade/Stalker

    Any ideas?

  11. Hello guys. I spent a lot o time trying to solo the game, but I realized that is harder than I thought and I need more experience with the game.

I will start a new game, party run ( in veteran). For a party I want to be able to tank, but not only a meatshield.

So I have two ideas. The first one would be an Unbroken/Lifegiver, to act like a support tank. My other idea (and the one I am more inclined to take) is an Unbroken/Stalker, I like the ranger class, and with this I expect to do a good dps with high criticals.

How can you get stuck in Dunnage if you can't reach Neketaka?

The normal route (if you don't metagame) is Neketaka right after Port Maje, Solo characters have different strenght depending on the class and build, some need higher lvls (you can reach high lvls not doing much but running around), some can fight early, Chanters with an animal companion can fight early to late - just let the AC aggro while standing out of range and cast the summon while the AC lures the enemy to you. You need to know how your build fights, which items to get early (starting armor vs devil of caroc armor is no contest, if you don't get good items early you are crippling your character - only a few builds can fight without items, and only if you do it right)

Neketaka has many easy to reach good items, Dunnage is my rush isle if i want Voidward - just to leave instantly after shopping (and accepting the bounty quest).

My runs start this way: i look at the easiest to reach items that are good for my build and rush them, with every item the run gets easier.

Other problem that I have, is that I don’t know much of the game to know what itens I must get. That’s another reason I went to Dunnage, to see the vendors.
