  1. Really? Why? Because you say so? And, exactly what "proof" must I offer up to satisfy your personal requirements that I am speaking the truth? Do you doubt the veracity of everyone who posts something that you do not like? Or, are you selective in whom you call a liar, making me lucky enough to be singled out for this honour? Would you like a recorded conversation-- or a signed confession, perhaps? Because I am sure that Eliza would not be stupid enough to put it in writing (while she may be dumb and untalented, I doubt that she's stupid!)! And, exactly what would I have to gain by making sh** up about Eliza-- or anyone else, for that matter? I couldn't help but notice that you did not accuse Rhomal of lying when he said I was, in fact, corroborating this comment with personal knowledge, having overheard the same type of comments numerous times! The girl considered it a "game" to "take" someone else's boyfriend, especially if it might promote her much desired career (and, no she did not take one of mine, I was interested in education, not dating!). Of course, Hiro Protagonist had this to say: To which I might answer: Why is it that when someone makes a negative (and, at least in this case, truthful) comment about someone else, it is automatically assumed that we must be jealous and making sh** up? Maybe, the reality is that we are sick of working hard to excel at what we do, only to have some insignificant, no-talented little wannabe come along and get work by hitting the casting couches of anyone who will give them 15 minutes-- then going on to whinge about how hard they really work and how misunderstood they are ("you don't know what it's like to be me-- it's so hard-- No, Really"!) And, these undertalented and overpaid people leave themselves open to whatever the public opinion happens to be about their performance-- good or bad! (I am one of the public, and I do have an opinion, so I believe that qualifies me!) Especially when their public persona is built on a nothing more than mountain of lies & BS in order to make themselves "look good" and to make them "likeable"! Pidesco also made this comment: and we knew exactly what Pidesco meant by that first comment, didn't we? Not that I have to prove anything to the likes of you, Volourn, but I was there! At the time, I was a successful model ($2500/Hr for print work and ad campaigns, $5000 per live runway show and a multimillion dollar contract to an Italian sportscar company qualify me as "successful", before you ask) and paying for my university tuition (to three of the best Universities in the world by the time I completed three Doctoral Degrees and a handful of Masters Degrees). At this particular time, I was carrying double majors to obtain my doctoral degrees in both Criminal Law (I negotiated my own modeling contracts and was paid before I showed up for work) and Abnormal Psychology with a minor in International Business Relations. Yes, I probably was overpaid, but I busted my a** the years that I worked (both at the modeling and the studying!). I certainly would not have done the modeling if I had found another legitimate way (I had no desire to be either a prostitute or stripper) to pay for the education that I desired! The first thing I did after obtaining my degress was to quit and get a "real job"-- one of the biggest influences on that decision: I find it ridiculous to pay people millions of dollars to do useless jobs-- actors, models, musicians and sports figures, to name but a few (and these morons actually think they are worth $20 Mil to "star" in a single movie or play football for a couple of years!) when there are people starving, homeless, out of work, being abused and neglected and unable to even obtain a decent education or medical care for themselves and their families-- not to mention not enough people interested in educating themselves and becoming useful members of society like teachers, scientists, social workers, doctors (and I am not referring to the ones only in the field to make millions) and nurses, etc. Why? Because everyone would rather be rich and famous! Did you know that a recent survey asked school children what they wanted to be when they grew up and the top three answers were: rich, famous and a celebrity (in no particular order)? That really says a lot for our society, no? We are telling our children that it is better to be a rich, famous celebrity (even if only to keep mommy & daddy in the lifestyle they want to become accustomed to!) than to study and work hard so they can become useful members of society! WOW! As to your final comment "Anyways, Dishku is no acting champion but she's nowhere as bad as some claim." Well, that is your opinion, is it not? An opinion that you are fully entitled to, just as I am entitled to my poor opinion of her (as is anyone else). PS: You do not know me at all, let alone well enough to call me a liar, so I would appreciate it if you might refrain from doing so in the future! Thanks!
  2. But see these are the two problems I have: one is that they can't be sculpting matter from refuse because the Wall-R's are dumping the refuse into space (leaving a trail behind the ship) which brings up problem two, namely that humanity doesn't learn its lesson - they're still polluting space! And if the captain is any indication they've forgotten that they even had a past to learn from, much less actually learned a lesson. well, it's a cruise ship right? The original voyage was only supposed to last several weeks/months while the Earth was cleaned up. The amount of waste dumped into space would be comparatively small. Actually it's still comparatively small given that space itself is huge. /Douglas Adams. Actually, the original voyage was supposed to last five years. The Axiom was the luxuary liner of all the Buy N Large cruise ships ("spend your five year cruise in luxury being waited on hand and foot by our fully automated staff"...-- or words to that effect). But, you are right, they haven't learned a thing! They are still polluting space by dumping their garbage, even if it is a realitively small amount given that space is so huge!
  3. Haven't seen much of it, don't want to see anymore. I did watch "glitches" of the series (supposedly the highlights) and was bored beyond tears- and appalled that the actors (well, at least most of them) were actually collecting pay checks for this unbelievable garbage! I have read more than I ever wanted to know about the series here, but it's like staring at a car crash as you drive by, you just can't look away. It is so unbelievably horrible, I don't think even Summer Glau could save it! I do like to be entertained when I watch television, but I really don't care to have to suspend all reason, belief and sanity-- at least all at the same time! And, the earlier comments about the lead actress are true- she does have a certain "reputation" since early on in her high school years. She used to be one of the "hangers-on" on the fringes of the "it-girl" crowd in the big city and was always doing something to get noticed by anyone who would give her a moment of attention. She also swore she would do whatever it takes to "be somebody", "no matter what"- looks like she's managed to hit the right casting couch because she certainly has no more skill now than she did in those days! Glad to see she still has the right people to make her look good because her acting is as awful as ever! Joss must have really been taken with this one (gee, I wonder what she did to impress him? And, did the impressing extend to his brother, as well?) because she certainly did not get the job due to her skill or abilities as an actress (believable or otherwise)!
  4. My favourites (I watch them almost weekly, without fail) currently are "Serenity" and "Wall-E". So many of the quotes in "Serenity" (and the "Firefly" series also created by Joss Wedon) fit my life. 'Nuff Said! "Wall-E" is just a great feel-good film without a great deal of mindless blither (it actually works without much spoken dialogue)! I love that it pokes fun at America's obsessions with things like "Big Gulps", fast food, computers and laziness (IE the "hover chairs") I especially enjoyed the line about the people on the spaceship having possibly gained bone mass, when in reality, everyone has just gotten fat from being so lazy, overeating to the point that everything now comes "in a cup", and most people have their faces stuck in computers and "didn't realize we had a pool"-- as well as trash overtaking so much of the earth that everyone has to go out into space (on luxury cruises in spaceships, of course), and robots (like Wall-E himself) are left to "clean up the mess while you are away"... The captain actually thinks that you could "plant seeds and grow food like pizza"- I personally find the movie (and the entire concept) amusing!
