  1. Having your account logged on from a Chinese IP runs the serious risk of getting it permabanned by Blizz. Also he's not just asking someone to farm battlegrounds for him, he's asking for an arena partner, which requires someone with excellent communication skills (in English) and no intercontinental lag.
  2. There are exactly three North America studios with the capabilities and experiences to develop an AAA CRPG. Bethesda hasn't been using external IPs for nearly 15 years. Bioware turned away from external IPs in recent years and is owned by a publisher that a) without a D&D licenses b)Unlikely to cut a co-publishing deal with Atari. Those left Obsidian as the only choice if Atari wants a D&D CRPG to be made. Given the current 2 years+ cycle, if development hasn't started this year then the game wouldn't be ready until 2012. By then it will be 6 years past Atari's last non-expansion D&D games. It's unthinkable Atari would let such a valuable licenses goes underutilized for so long. So I would bet Obsidian's secret project is a new D&D game.
  3. I haven't followed Beth's history, but I know they've previously sued to kill the P&P version of Fallout (authorised by iply prior to selling the IP to Zenimax), threatened to sue replacement docs for carrying their games' manuals and threatened abandonware sites for carrying their old games. Not that they aren't necessarily justified- the replacement docs and abandonware ones are certainly well within their rights- but they are pretty litigious for their size. I don't think Beth actually sued Glutton Creeper for the Fallout PnP. They just sent some cease and desist papers and GC gave in.
  4. I was reading GameSpot and discovered there's a company called Besthesda Game Studios who sells Fallout 3 and related products. This is outrageous. Bethesda should hunt down this Besthesda company and sue them. http://www.gamespot.com/pages/company/inde...ted-companies;1
  5. The problem I see with Colonization series is you're only allowed to play the Europeans. It's similar to my feelings toward WWII games. I'm not against WWII games where you could play both Axis and Alliance, but if a game comes out and only allows you to play the three Axis powers then I do have a problem.
  6. It's like Warner Bros releasing a Matrix Trilogy blu-ray collection and it contains the first two films and Animatrix.
  7. Yeah that's the game. I did enjoy the original Colonization as a kid but now as a grown-up I'm a bit torn about whether to get the remake, because of its historical setting. I can only speak of Age of Wonders 2 as I haven't played the original. It's like a crossover between Civilization and Heroes of Might and Magic. You build cities, manage populations, do magical researches, etc. Like HoMM it goes into a separate tactical mode when enemies are engaged.
  8. It has been awhile since I played Age of Wonders 2 but I remember it be to a solid fantasy 4X. I've heard good things about the new Colonization. Could be a good choice if you don't feel unease about the subject matter.
  9. Whoa, I thought I was the only one that had that prediction. TBH I don't think Bethsoft is going to buy Obsidian at this stage. Acquisitions nowadays are more about getting IPs which Obsidian just don't have any (Sega owns Alpha Protocol, right?). Maybe if Feargus's secret project is on the Diablo level then Beth will buy Obsidian and rebrand it as Bethesda West .
