Do people want this game to be as "Hardcore" as 90's RPGs?
Difficulty can be addressed via difficulty settings(as long as they're included) so I don't think it that should be a much of a problem. They've said they're going for tactical combat so I very much doubt it will be a cakewalk on the harder settings (otherwise theres really no need for tactics). There are some (more) modern concessions I enjoy like the option to have my party cast heal on rest....Rather than tediously having to manually do it ala BG. It's nice to have at least a transcript of your conversation so if you miss someone telling you something important (vie pressing the wrong button etc...) you can somehow access it although I'm not arguing for journal updates that tell you exactly what you need to do next (or say a breadcrumb trail). Friendly fire is also something I enjoy although that could be set to the difficulty slider as well as I beleive it was done for some of the IE games.

Gather Allies in Four Sides of the World to Fight the Ancient Big Baddie?
Very much agree with pretty much everything which has been posted here.

Do we want elves and dwarves?
I don't really care either way if we have elves or dwarves. It would be nice if they're included with a novel twist to them but as long as some of the characters from both races are interesting and well thought out I don't think it matters so much. I think it would be nice to have some other more original races included as well though. I'm not a huge fan of animal+humanoid features =new race (i.e cat, lizard people etc...). It would be interesting to see them include say a full race of changelings (like someone else brought up) but to actually implement them logically with the world, which I've never seen done. Imagine if anyone you ran into could be someone posing as someone you knew. What kind of effect would that have on you? There would be widespread suspicion and 'witch hunts' etc... Anyways I feel like that might be a little to much work to implement unless thats a main theme of the game. However it is useful to illustrate my preference that if elves or dwarves or completely novel races are included, that the relationships among these different races are realistic. So although the racism thing between human/elves/dwarves is a little played out atleast to me it strikes me as realistic given the current state of affairs.

Some updates re: feedback
I haven't played the demo but I'm glad you're looking into improving the controls for the pc. I've been looking forward to this game for awhile now (mainly because you guys are making it) and I was very dissapointed to find out that even though the game is good it suffers on the pc because it's well a console port. Anyways hopefully you clear up the control issues on the pc and thanks for letting us know that you're working on it.

Dungeon Siege 3 at New York Comic Con
Good to know. And to think I was in the midst of spending thousands of dollars when I read this post....

Delay and expectations
"I'M SORRY ASH. I HAD TO MAKE A CHOICE." Brilliant dialogue. Just pure genius. Moved me to tears. In case you can't tell, I'm being sarcastic. The exception dont prove the rule.

The Great Alpha Protocol venting thread
Can I still Rage even though Rorie has assured us it's coming out? I AM SO ANGRY. Is there a vague release window Matthew? April? May? September? 2011? 2050? When hell freezes over?

So, Is this game delayed or not?
I can't figure out if this guy is serious or not. It's a bummer it's been delayed, but as someone else pointed out there's no shortage of interesting games coming out in the next 6 months. That said Obsidian and/or Sega really handled this delay poorly.

So, Is this game delayed or not?
Sega's website has been updated with a release date of Spring 2010, although by now I'm sure no one really expected it would come out this month. Bummer

Suggest good 80's song
Corey Hart would be a laugh. How about Don't get much better than that.

Developer Diary video
Looks like it's really coming together. I am actually very pleased with MT voice, I think it works well. The only thing that I noticed in the vid that looked a bit off were the physics of the grenades....Those things were bouncing like rubber balls or something.

Release date
Couldn't have said it better myself. Come on SEGA do something.

Just a heads up.
Thanks Ryan for letting us know. I really hope this game avoids releasing any later than august. It would be real shame if it got overlooked in the holiday rush.

Developer Diary video
I'm hoping you're right. I never really understood the lockpick minigame mechanic, even half decent ones (thief, ME pc) get old really fast. I mean whats the point of throwing in something thats going to get boring way before the end of the game.

There are a number of different outfits that you can select before the mission begins, whether you want combat armor, a tactical stealth-oriented suit, or a number of normal clothing options. What are the advantages of civilian-type clothing? Does every mission allow to you to "blend with the crowd" (I use the term loosely, since apparently there are no crowds in AP), or are there other benefits? How about looking gentlemanly during the cut scenes.

The New Bond Suit
I'm with cycloneman. Although I did think they overdid a lot of the action elements in the film, at least they didn't ruin the bond that was built in Casino Royale. I mean I enjoyed the Pierce Brosnan Bond but if they had try to resurrect him they would have run into the same problems that were rife in Die Another Day: A reliance on gadgets, and a completely unrealistic story. I'm not saying that you can't have a good story with a Brosnan type Bond (look at goldeneye) but I think it's harder because Brosnan's Bond never develops as a character.
