IGN interview
I think third person works OK in RPG's, I can't stand it in shooters though. It would be nice if there was a choice of camera selection.

IGN interview
Gears of War? Duh. What I mean is, will we actually use it? No one used the cover system in Mass Effect. What do you mean? You won't last 5 sec in ME without cover, unless may be it's on easy.

And Jack is back...
His accusation is not entirely without merit. When IGN put together a video of all the stuff you could do in GTA 4 they were quickly pressured to pull it to avoid controversy and giving ammunition to critics.

IGN seems to be confused. Their info is the same as the main TOR page, but distorted through ignorance.

Far Cry 2
Sounds like the epitome of Ubisoft game design.

Fallout 3
I think their excuse was they'd have to give you the whole game to be able to do a demo, since it's all one open world. Although I suppose they could've demoed the Vault part.

AP cinematic teaser trailer
ROFL As far as factions, I don't think they have anything to do with grinding, I think how you approach the mission is what will affect your reputation. The example they gave is if you kill the Marine guard guarding the embassy to get in, you will be on the Marines' crap list, and they will fight you once you get inside, otherwise they help you. In another example, if you don't kill the arms dealer, you probably lose rep with whoever gave you the assignment.

I always thought grinding meant doing stuff to gain XP instead of doing it because it was fun. Lots of repetitive combat would be an example of grinding.

Making becoming a Jedi brutally hard makes sense if you trying to keep their numbers low and save them as a special reward for the most hardcore and dedicated players. Unfortunately it also makes it hard to keep people paying subscriptions to a Star Wars game where everyone wants to be a Jedi and everyone believes they're special.

What!? Having factions is a bad thing now? You can't keep them all happy, who you side with will affect the game, it's called roleplaying.

A couple of million subscribers wouldn't be unreasonable for a quality SW MMO. That's $30 million a month, not a bad haul.

Just keep the reinforcement coming
Not sure about that, I don't remember threatening him, but I did get rid of him. Actually ME did a decent job of implementing Renegade at first, when it was just verbal choices, but later in the game it's pretty much either do what's sensible or kill someone for no particular reason. Thus at first I was getting nothing but renegade points, but by the end I was almost entirely paragon.

That's not exactly what they said. They said the MMO is expected to have enough content to cover the next six games down the line. That looks to me more like a statement on the planned scope than a factual declaration of future plans for the franchise. I don't believe a KotOR 3 will be made, but they could squeeze it in if they wanted to. They clearly stated that instead of doing K3, they decided to do the MMO, because they could reach "a wider audience", translated as they think they can make bigger gobs of cash.

Based on the setting information, I think that's exactly what they did. How can KOTOR III be made (assuming you're referring to the Revan going off into the unknown regions plot) now, after this MMO takes place 300 years after the events of KOTOR and states that Revan left and never returned? Just because Revan never returns, doesn't mean there's no story there. The problem is, they already said the MMO is a replacement for KOTOR 3, and can be played single player. I don't believe it'll work that way, so at some point they might reconsider.

Just keep the reinforcement coming
Whether they were fun isn't the point though. The point is you don't really need to pull a gun to tell someone to get lost, unless they don't take the hint in the first place.
-
Just keep the reinforcement coming
You're right, the Renegade was mostly a jerk, instead of a ruthless person acting for the greater good like I was hoping.

Just keep the reinforcement coming
Yes, ME story sucked, but what does it have to do with AP?

Hey, that's not a correct summary of K2, Kreia wasn't the one who killed most of the Jedis, and the Exile just followed her plans, not interrupted them. At least it's good the MMO is set 300 yrs later and says nothing of Revan. That leaves room for the real single player KOTOR 3, there's still lots of interest in that one, and they can re-use the assets from the MMO to make it.

Let us look at the pictures from the MMO and then consider these: Step forward my ass. Don't know what you mean:
