Wikileaks founder framed for rape?
Wrath of Dagon replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Way Off-Topic
Pentagon denied it. This is the story that I've read: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/10/a...m_n_677048.html Edit: Here's another article on this, specifically stating that most released documents were not edited: http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8...2010309,00.html -

Assange also claimed he contacted the Pentagon about making sure he doesn't release any harmful information, but Pentagon denies the whole thing. I guess it depends on who you believe. -
THQ: Buying used games is "cheating".
Wrath of Dagon replied to kirottu's topic in Computer and Console
The difference with the movie business is DVD's are cheap enough most people don't bother with used DVD's. With games the price is much higher and the volume is much lower, thus second hand sales hurt a lot more. Basically a developer sees a lot of people enjoying his labor without him seeing a penny in return. Of course it feels like cheating. -
Fed Ex also picks stuff up you know. It doesn't really matter if it's fetch, deliver, or kill, the point is it's a stand alone menial assignment which means very little in the context of the rest of the game. I could use "random" but that would be even more confusing, SRPG's don't usually have randomly generated quests, so unless you can come up with a really good term, I'd continue to use either Fed Ex or fetch quest, since most people seem to have an idea of what those are.

Sigh, you have to get past the weasel words to see what he's really saying: Yes, because the Basij thugs beat, shot, and tortured protesters until they gave up. What a great leader he is indeed, so loving of his own people. How magnanimous of him, I'm sure they'll get very far, with the Iranian legal system being so famously independent and impartial. What's that about sentencing a woman to be stoned to death? Can't hear you, sorry. Wow, sounds great. May be we can get something like that going in the US too. Well, of course, everyone knows there's no rule like Islamic rule, Khomeini said so.

Again, you're just getting into definitions of what I mean by Fed Ex vs what you mean by Fed Ex. I already stated what I mean for reference, whether we agree on that or not isn't really relevant to anything, call them random quests if you like or whatever else, so long as you understand what I meant.
-
OK, I didn't understand which guard you meant. But you can't claim every time you have to walk somewhere as part of a larger quest it's a Fed Ex quest.

Not if they want to keep their jobs.

Not if you open the box.

Name some then. I have a feeling there isn't a point because you'd just rationalize that it's not. Since you already have done just this. In spite not playing the game in years Kashyyyk has a handful of them. Go get the blade. Go down and find my friends down below in the underlands (or whatever). Go retrieve the evidence to prove that some wookiee is evil. Etc. Aside from controls, KOTOR and Mass Effect are remarkably similar games too. Well, I guess whoever said this is going to turn into argument about definition of Fed Ex quest was right. What I mean by it though is some assignment from some random NPC to fetch something or deliver something or kill someone, with no real relevance to the story or the theme of the game, used mostly as filler. By that definition, finding the blade was central to the events on Kashyyk, so it wouldn't fit. Finding the evidence was part of the larger quest of solving the crime which also involved a trial, so while that wasn't a very good quest in total, it wasn't a Fed Ex quest. Finding the friends I don't remember too well, it may be close to a Fed Ex quest, but at least you inevitably stumble on them, so it doesn't take much effort. What does it have to do with being Fed Ex though? You're not even fetching anything. You're just complaining about not having alternate solutions. Btw, you could wear the Sith Armor and not give him the papers as I recall. Also killing him in a populated area and having the entire Sith army come after you wouldn't make much sense. And it's not like having to get anything in an RPG is an automatic Fed Ex quest. Getting that item just has to have a point.

Name some then. All value judgments are subjective, my opinion is that Bio games have tremendously declined in quality. I have cut my losses and not planning to buy any more Bio games. But yes, I'm still going to post in this thread whenever I feel like it.
-
Confidence would be they'd try to make a quality game, has nothing to do with hardcore. Not everybody, I didn't like DAO and never got ME2 (the demo was awful btw).
-
I didn't say anything about expelling all the illegals, that's a strawman you brought up. The first priority shoud be securing the border, once the influx of new illegals stops, we can start thinking about what to do with the ones already here. I'm not advocating draconian action against them, except the criminals of course.

A sequel can easily be better than the original, it's just a question of whether one has any confidence left in Bioware at all.

Most of the DA board quests you have to travel to a special little area and kill everything that moves. How's that not making a special effort to do the quest? Besides, almost all the sidequests in DA are like that, but that's a slightly different subject. And my original point was not only that it didn't require extra effort, but that it was actually related to the bigger story, not the usual random fetch quest.
